Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

Switch rev limiter to spark cut

Post by wizkid1358 » Fri Jun 12, 2026 9:46 pm

I have the truck in my signature with the EKO1/OMAE1 strategy. After turning up the boost a good amount this year the fuel cut for the rev limiter has become quite violent. It lean pops out the intake and tries to blow off every vacuum line. There's a parameter to disable fuel cutoff entirely but it also disables decel fuel cutoff and torque reduction. Is there any way to make it to where the rev limiter only cuts spark?

Spark cut alone fills the exhaust with unburnt mixture that can go off in an uncontrolled burn.

Inceasing the RPM limit values to maximum would retain fuel at the expense of losing the RPM limiter altogether.

Tuning retarded spark above the RPM limit could be done.
