Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

I just got everything together and everything seems to be running well but I am having a problem with the car stalling after inital startup. I can start the car and it will idle fine, once I give it some gas the rpms will drop and it will die, I can be driving down the road and if I granny shift it, it will die between shifts. I am running the included LMAF transfer function that came with caledit, I have also tried the 03 cobra maf file. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I am running a 95 cobra ECU, J4J1 rom file with a few tweaks, I pulled timing at the higher load levels, told the fans to come on a little sooner, did a few other things with the injector offset for batt voltage, and a few other things here and there. Would it help if I posted a datalog of whats happening?

Not sure what is causing it to die but you might be able to play with some of the dashpot settings. This is what the EEC uses to compensate for transitions to closed throttle from part or wide open throttle. I have never used this function before and I suspect this would be more of a band-aid solution rather than actually fixing the problem. Anyone here have any experience with the dashpot settings to help him out?

Have you lowered the min_injector_pulse scaler? I set mine to .3mS. If you have it at the stock setting, the EEC will not be able to command a shorter pulse and it will run rich with larger injectors.
