Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

j141 inj timing on [cams made for] boost

Post by recharged95 » Mon Aug 28, 2023 6:37 pm

Playing around with inj timing--Is there a rule of thumb for boosted cams (little overlap)? Been using stock j141 of 300^ across the board and likely blowing too much fuel out (false lean condition but getting ++fuel smells). Searching pointed that non-boosted setups should have timing before intake opening to get some atomization unless you have big overlap. My cam is a custom for boost (224/230 .548/.548, 114), Cam Analyzer says intake opens 334^ @0.006, exhaust closes 374^ @0.006. EA has 356^/357^ (1^ overlap matches cam card). Should I just go with when the exhaust closes so I don't have boost blow out fuel whatsoever?

Can't use EA to calc since I'm logging via TunerProRT (tried converting the csv and redoing the column labels, but didn't work).
