I've got a very nice running 302 in my '00 Mountaineer tuned using CoreTuning's REAC4 definition. Recently, I discovered an offshore company called AlloyWorks which produces fully TIG welded aluminum radiators for my application as well as a fully fabricated shroud that incorporates a 16" S-blade fan and louvers. The price was right so I went for it and sure enough, it looks like it's going to be a convenient route to convert from mechanical cooling fan to electric. I've never run AC is any of my other EEC-V conversions before and the 2nd Gen Explorer/Mountaineer vehicles never came with a e-fans, so my question is whether anyone knows if either the LSF (EDF) or HSF (HEDF) outputs are enabled when the A/C is enabled in these strategies.
Decipha modified the GUFB code in the following manner which works great in my Fox:
Code: Select all
High speed fan output is assigned to a/c control. It used to be common for folks to wire up the high speed fan output and also wire it to the ac clutch so it came on with the a/c. Thats no longer needed as I have assigned the a/c to turn on the high speed fan in the code
I am looking for the same type of thing for REAC4 EEC-V strategy I'm running. The CoreTuning definition is fairly comprehensive, so there is a tell tale sign that it may already be supported as well via a parameter listed as "A/C Minimum Time to Run Cooling Fan After A/C Cycles Off." Hopefully someone has experimented with this before!
