Anyone willing to write a tune for some cash
Just as the subject says... My car is sitting in my buddies shop with a fresh rebuild. I need to get it fired up, broke in, and moved the hell out of his shop (its been taking up space way too long). I am very slowly learning here, but I was hoping I could pay someone to write me a tune just to make sure I can get the car started and running without it dying or burning it up right away. I suppose another question is, would the stock tune on the ecm all the car to run good enough to at least get the cam broke in and driven gently back to my house?
Here is the not so aggressive rebuild:
gt40p heads
typhoon intake
scorpion 1.6 rr's
lunati voodoo cam
.580 lift springs
bbk long tube headers
lmaf & Anderson power pipe
24 lb injectors
If someone is willing to take on this project, let me know and we can get in touch, talk specifics and $$$.
Probably should add.... it's a 1989 mustang gt w/factory 302 w/above mods

They will require more info for somebody to know what you actually need. Do you have Quarterhorse or Tweecer? What tuning software do you own if any? Or are you looking for a chip? And to answer your other question I sure wouldn't start a fresh engine with new injectors and a large non stock MAF. Running lean (or more likely dumping excess fuel in this case) in fresh cylinders is a good way to knock the new right out of it.

Sorry for the omission of information, and thanks for the advice. I am using a Quarterhorse and Binary Editor. If someone is willing to do this for me we'll get in touch and sort out all the details.

Do you have FRPP 24# injectors? Is it a 90mm Lmaf?

They are ACCEL injectors, and yes it is 90mm.

Are you interested?
Re: Anyone willing to write a tune for some cash
Accel does not publish all the specs needed. They will probably require some work to dial in. Not something I'm able to do remotely.

Re: Anyone willing to write a tune for some cash
Or better yet, I'll leave the current injectors in it, you write me a tune, and we can talk on the phone and you can tell me what to look for and the information needed to fine tune....
Re: Anyone willing to write a tune for some cash
This is a very basic tune. Egr and thermactor are disabled. Timing is basically stock. Make sure base timing is set to 10btdc with spout disconnected. I have it set to idle at 850rpm. Once you get it warmed up unplug isc and spout and adjust throttle stop to get idle near 750 rpm then plug isc and spout back in. Let me know how it goes.

One other suggestion is set Binary Editor to display Lambda, much simpler than afr.

Re: Anyone willing to write a tune for some cash
Got it fired up and was able to run it home (about 5 miles) about 2,000 rpm after running it for awhile to make sure oil pressure and temp are going to be ok. Will not idle whatsoever... The timing is definitely off and will mess with that and throttle adjust just to begin with to hopefully get it to idle. Right now it'll fire and die unless giving it gas to keep the rpm up a little and keep it running. I've got some work to do!

Re: Anyone willing to write a tune for some cash
Well this escalated quickly! To me it sounds like your IAC valve failed on you. I had that happen to me on my project. If you get this frustrated over something like this then i feel like this isnt the right hobby for you. If i acted the way you are everytime my project didn't go the way i expected, it would have ended up in the junk yard without ever driving it. If your wanting to tune this yourself then yes you will have A LOT to learn. Ive been tuning on my bronco for the better part of a year and im just starting to get the hang of things. granted i havent spent every waking moment tuning it, more like a few hours here and there, but you get the point. Your not going to pickup your laptop and get it right away, its going to take a while, and yes you are going to get frustrated. What you need to do is ask questions, lots and lots of questions. If you feel like your asking too many questions, ask more. Its how your going to learn, there are a metric ass ton of people on this forum and others like it that are more than happy to help you get your project where you want it to be, you just cant be afraid to ask questions.

Re: Anyone willing to write a tune for some cash
I remember when I replaced the 302 with the 331 in my truck and put the IAC on backwards. That didn't work well. I thought the IAC was bad too. Turns out, it doesn't regulate airflow very well when air flows through it backwards. I doubt that's your problem, but this reminded me of that.

All assuming the mechanicals are sound and trouble free. I wouldn't tune any car that's not in front of me for any amount of money. Its a losing proposition.

if she still needs some attention give me a shout
I have no problem at all remote tuning a vehicle sight unseen, and in most cases prefer it for basic setups like this
