Anyone using the Steeda Tri-axe shifter?

Post by Daren Woodall » Tue Jan 21, 2003 3:25 pm

Are these aftermarket shifters obnoxiously noisy or what?

This shifter was installed on the car when I purchased it and it is my first experience with an aftermarket shifter. I like the precise shifting but the absense of bushings allows the transmission noise to be transmitted in to the cabin. Also, at higher RPM's, the thing rattles creating a very unsettling racket.

What has your experiences been? Is there something I could do to soften the noise? Perhaps it is mal-adjusted.

Any feedback is appreciated.

My Hurst shifter used to do that, after it got worn out. I've got a Pro5.0 now. IMO, it's the best out there.
