accuracy of hp/tq in EA

Post by Jamlx1 » Mon Nov 29, 2010 12:14 am

Was wondering if anyone may know how accurate the hp/tq tab is in EA.

I've asked Clint if there was any way to not calculate these. I have no faith and no interest in the computed HP/torque numbers. They just get in the way IMHO.

They are no closer than your input numbers. Most people need to be on a dyno to know what their actual BSFC is. EA assumes a BSFC unless you change the default value. But without knowing a round-about value you believe your engine is at OR testing it to find your actual BSFC, it's just guessing, so the output from the HP/Tq calcs will be equally as accurate.

There's a program called Desktop Dyno that's pretty good for estimating hp/tq, based on your engine components. But that's just theoretical, untuned, more of a guide really.
