just lazy

Post by decipha » Sat Dec 04, 2010 2:58 am

i'm constantly 'needing' to do something to one of my cars, either maintenance or modification but at any given point in time i have something that could be done to at least one of my cars

yet i can't seem to get around to it even when i make time like today for example, i got off work early and had tomorrow off so i figured why not, yet i got home took a bath and went to sleep, granted i was tired and stayed up late the night prior but still that doesn't change the fact

now its too late to do anything meaningful thus another day wasted, tomorrow i plan to hit it in full effect but we shall see, things tend to vary quite often, plan's don't go as planned

i might just get to that steering rack that i've been putting off for the past month or two

Sounds typical to me. I had good momentum porting the 1st of my 2 GT40p heads. The 2nd is lagging something awful. I started it about a week ago and got some work on the exhaust ports, but just haven't gotten back down there to finish them. Once finished, the block and heads go to the machine shop. Maybe that's why I'm subconsciously draggin'-@$$, because I know that's going to be a big bill.

I had a couple motorcycles that i was working on fairly regularly. always seemed to be something little that needed done. So I sucked it up and bought a Buell. Rode it until the warranty ran out, and now it sits in the garage, cause I can't afford to fix it if it breaks :P

Course I also have a few other projects sitting in pieces, though they've been making slow, but steady progress.

Sounds like SOP for me. Once the weather starts to change and I see a couple cars out, then I get off my azz and everything kicks into overdrive.

Then I rip it all back apart. It's like perpetual motion.

Oh geez...where do I start?

The long list of stuff I "need" to do to my car? Including finishing the MM suspension install, the electric fan, the brake upgrade, the cruise control retrofit,...learning how to tune without someone holding my hand?

We could go back further...how about the home improvement projects that have been neglected while working on my car?

The attic could use a good cleaning and purging...I still have several unassembled plastic model kits from when I was a teenager and does anyone remember when CDs came in long boxes to help prevent shoplifting? Yeah...I saved all those from the 80s hair bands.

I was just delivered my grandfather's stamp collection. He passed away in 1993. I'm pretty sure this thing is worth a fortune, but when am I going to find time to go through and organize and catalog everything? Like I needed another hobby!

So, in the face of overwhelming tasks, there is but one thing to do...sit down and relax and not think about it! LOL
