Advice on buying injectors for a 2V 4.6
Doing some reading and talking to the guys when I picked up my QH + BE + Pops definitions I was well advised to NOT buy typical injectors for a Cobra etc since they would have the two way spray pattern for 4 valve engines and to get the standard spray pattern injectors for my 2V 4.6.
Anyway, this is a "budget" build home brew turbo project car but I want to use something trouble free.
Got any advice on brand and decent online stores to get a set?
One of the first steps to tuning this stock 1996 Ford GT will be to do injectors and then scaling them to get a hand on the software. I figured that would be a good start. Which still N/A. Then the MAF.
Looking at maybe 400 HP max. It's nothing I want to put a lot of serious mods into. I just like turbo cars and this will be my first one with a REAL tune (did FMU and other method before).
I might be able to go to AMP here in Arizona but they are a drive across town.

I also need to buy a wideband.
Adam at Pops mentioned a brand but we were in a hurry to get me done because I had to go somewhere and I didn't write it down.

Yeah, I read that one. That is where I got the info.
Which I understood. LOL!
Evidently 39# are popular injectors because they came from those stock Cobra engines and thus easy for people to acquire and use on other engines while not realizing the unfavorable spray pattern on non 4 valve engines.
My main question was I'd like to find some good injectors at a good price, but where's a good brand and online source to find them with the NORMAL spray pattern for my 2 valve?
From the chart it looks that 39 # is more than I will ever need for my goal and perhaps 36# or so is fine.
I am grateful to have read that other article on the #39 injectors and 2 valve engines otherwise I would have been tempted to buy them on eBay or something since they are so popular.
I've been reading lots of threads here and I will continue to read and reread throughout my tuning process. :-)

Sweet. Thanks. Any favorable sources for that?TwinSCs wrote:TrueMetalGeek wrote:I also need to buy a wideband.

Re: Advice on buying injectors for a 2V 4.6
Before you get too far with that I don't think you can license it through BE directly. I planned on running it through the DataQ.
You might bug Adam again for the link. IIRC he knew where to get it for sub $300. I think Jegs / Summit had them for around $340

Oh, you're talking about one that could plug into the PC for BE?TwinSCs wrote:Before you get too far with that I don't think you can license it through BE directly. I planned on running it through the DataQ.

Re: Advice on buying injectors for a 2V 4.6
I sent an email to Clint (Binary Editor) and was surprised he responded in minutes and was after 10PM. LOL!
So I just ordered me this.
https://www.moates.net/innovate-mtx-ser ... p-257.html
I figure I may as well get that installed and working before I do any mods.
In a month I'll try to swing the injectors and MAF.

Re: Advice on buying injectors for a 2V 4.6
I'd recommend a slot MAF for turbo blow-through applications.
My buddy just converted his remote-turbo F-250 from a Lightning MAF to a slot MAF last week. We just dropped the "default" 3" OD pipe transfer in, and the truck immediately ran better than it ever did with the LMAF with no tuning at all.
He used a PMAS HPX.

Re: Advice on buying injectors for a 2V 4.6
I love the idea of running the ev14 injectors but the dual cone spray causes the spray
to hit the cold cylinder head wall. I wish i could find a ev14 injector that sprays a
single 22.5 degree mist, i THINK the only other choice is the seimen deka 60 or 80 lb
injectors, what say everybody else? I spent close to 20 hours looking for a solution
since i have a leaking injector right now and plan on buying new ones.

It's stupid to go with anything other than Siemens 80s
Since the tune is in the maf its useless to change the injectors first, scaling is based on the maf nothing to do with injectors unless you got over 112s
