working on 94 ford lightning need help
my buddy and I have a 94 lightning with a 408 we just bought and put back together we are having an issue with it running roughly and spoke to the prior owner who says the ecu was reflashed to run the 408 with a supercharger, I believe this because it runs extremely rich at idle .. I have a quarter horse chip I'm thinking of using to tune the reflashed stock ecu but I'm not 100% on how to go about it. the ecu code I have is f3tf12a650-acbh which is strategy AHACA code AKC0 I know the engine will need more fuel being a 408 but I'm not even sure of strategy and code... does anyone have a custom 408 tune for a gen 1 lightning ? any help will be much appreciated..

It is not possible to reflash that ECU. Unless there is a chip, quarterhorse or tweecer in the J3 port, the ECU would be running the stock tune.

So if you have a Quarterhorse, use that to tune the EEC with since it'll let you datalog and write tunes to it via USB while staying mounted on the EEC.
When you've got it running good enough, either leave the QH in place as the EEC's chip OR burn your final tune to a Moates chip and replace the QH with the burned chip.

Re: working on 94 ford lightning need help
this is my plan but I'm having trouble finding a definition for the ecu...
Re: working on 94 ford lightning need help
There isn't a free definition but Sailorbob or Core tuning probably have a definition for your ECU
