Windows Vista and EEC Analyzer and Binary Editor

Post by 86GT » Fri Feb 16, 2007 5:54 pm

I bought a new PC with Vista Ultimate. I loaded both the Binary Editor (BE) and EEC Analyzer (EA) without any issues. No need to install any pre reqs.

I was able to edit my current tune using BE. I then loaded a SCT datalog, and a EEC Tuner datalog in the EA. I did a few didderent calculations without any issues.

The only thing I have not tested is the BDE and a TwEECer 1.3 datalog.

Which version do you have? x86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit)?

Cool. I had heard that the x64 versions were having a lot of problems with programs running and drivers. I think it has improved a lot before the final release though. Would be interesting to see if CalEdit works on that version also.

But it's good to know it works on at least one type of Vista.

I will test it as soon as I can get it stable. The PC I bought has the top of the line equipment and there are all kinds of in compatibility issues. For one the NAVIDIA video car is having problems with the new 68i chipset on the motherboard. I also have a wireless keyboard and mouse.

I have been able to resolve all issues but one. The only remaining issue is that the PC will lock up randomly. I do not know if it is the mouse and keyboard or something else.

As soon as i can get all things stable I will try to see if Cal Con and Cal Edit load.

Well I installed the BDE with the typical error. The error was that i did not have enough space on the hard drive. I just continued threw. I then installed 1.3A9 and it ran. I could open and edit files. I could also open cal con.

The only part that I can not test is the actual download or datalogging. I can not get the tweecer close enoiugh to my desktop, and I am not about to take the tweecer out of the car.

I also tested the 1,3 datalogs in EA and they seem to work also.

I think the only issue we are likely to see is UBS driver compatability to actually upload tunes to tweecer.

I'd sure love for someone to try it and give us feedback. Mike Glaver said there are drivers under development from the people that manufacture the USB hardware for tweecer, but as of yet, no timeframe for its release.

I'm real curious is it works at all.
