Hopefully this is the right section for this post???
I have been doing a TunerPro definition for a binary from an Auzzie V8. I have based it on A9L binary and GUFB definition. I have found almost everything but I can't for the life of me find "Allow Adaptive Learning" no matter how I search.
I have used a hex editor to search my binary for surrounding hex values (from A9L) without success. TunerPro GUFB def has a comment that the parameter (location 21B4) should be set only to 4700 (On) or 480F (Off). It is a 16 bit LSB so I have tried searching for hex 00 47 and 0F 48. I find neither of these anywhere in my binary???
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Re: How do I find "Allow Adaptive Learning" in new Bin / Def
There's generally not a scalar specific to allowing adaptive learning. The GUFx defs have it, but it is a hack scalar...one that reroutes the normal code flow vs being a setting that needs to be set TRUE or FALSE. Most of the time, the same result can be had by finding a scalar that enables/disables adaptive learning based on ACT or ECT. The A9Ls commonly never learned in the dead of the winter because the ACT value was set at 100°F stock. I think that's because the ACT was actually located in the lower intake where air temps could reach that high even with a cool 70° day.

OK, I think I know what you mean. I'm very new to this EEC tuning, so if I'm on the wrong track I'd appreciate a friendly correction
I've had a look at my definition and I have a scalar "Adaptive Control Min ACT". It's factory setting is 100°F. So if I move this set-point up to 200°F (which is the factory setting for "Adaptive Control Max ACT") it should have the effect of inhibiting Adaptive Control while I get my Fuel and Spark tuning done?

That should do it. Or if you want to put both at the max possible value of 255, that's the "official" way to disable it. But your way will work just the same.

Re: How do I find "Allow Adaptive Learning" in new Bin / Def
Yeah, being that ACT and ECT values only increment in 2° increments, I guess that makes sense.
Although looking in BE, it seems that Minimum ACT to Allow Adaptive Control (AFACT1) can be set all the way up to 510? I'm wondering if the scalar should be configured as signed instead of unsigned in the def file. Looking in TunerPro, Derek has it as unsigned there too. Interesting...
