tick conversion for A9L injector pw

This is where the BIN Hackers and definition junkies discuss the inner workings of the EEC code and hardware. General tuning questions do not go here. Only technical/hardware-specific/code questions and discussions belong here.

tick conversion for A9L injector pw

Post by EFI-Unlimited » Wed Dec 28, 2011 2:32 am

The 'interrupt' thread got me looking and I decided to start a new thread, rather than drive Chris thread further off topic.

My question is simple, why is the tick conversion in the A9L def payload .0048, instead of .0024? Is the logged value (ticks / 2)?

This may be a silly suggestion, but...

Is it because the injectors get fired TWICE per actual firing cycle ???
(I believe they do work that way.)

I am fairly certain they fire once per 720 or crank rotation. This is supported by the injector timing tables using values greater than 360. Not to mention, two injection events would mitigate a lot of the emission benefit of SEFI, and also double the 'off' time of the injector, reducing its capacity and accuracy.

The SD EEC's that run batch fire do fire twice a cycle, or once a revolution, I believe.

My bank fired one (VAF, not an SD) fires twice per cycle too, and ALL AT THE SAME TIME, which strikes me as a bit odd, but hey, it seems to work.
Good point about the SEFI, I just suggested it as a wild idea !
