Personally I'd stay far away from the chinese clones. It's my understanding that there were good clones and bad clones. The good ones are supposed to be impossible to find nowdays. IIRC the IDS software just went through some major changes renderring clones just about useless as far as updating them.

If you are mainly concerned with flashing look at the Mongosse or the MCS1. Both will work with both BE and Fords web flash software.

If you want something more diagnostics oriented take a look at Focom, Autoenginuity, or Scanxl.

I have Equus 3140 obd1/2 tester for diagnostic. I was thinking of a device that can do more, and not just engine diagnostics. I must check these out, thanks for info.

have to purchase a license and is updated about every other day ids update 82.02b just came out for the fusion/escape fire recall. it is very expensive but worth every penny if one can afford it.

The wireless feature is very nice as stated above ...VCMII not recommened to reprogram modules via wireless but i havent ran into any problems with it picking up where it leaves off if something happens with connectivity,

the last vcm was 980 plus 600 something for the subscription. Not bad for a shop, a bit pricy for DIY folks.
