Bench flash eec-v

Post by eec4 » Sat Mar 11, 2023 9:32 am

Do all the eec-v computers use same pins to do bench flash ? I have bench flash box , it works on multiple computers (4.6 mustang and 5.0 explorers) . Trying to bench flash a 2000 mustang ecu and won’t work , purchased second computer still will not communicate. Is there some other reason that it will not work ? Or just bad luck getting bad used ecu ?

What bench flash box / tool are you using ?
What is the eec-v catch code and hardware code on the mustang 2000 eec ?

that sounds cool that you made a flash adapter. What did you make it from if you don't mind me asking?
most of the flashable eec-v i have are Australian and i use pcmtuner with PWM .

I have a pinout that i used to make a bench loom that you might be able to compare to mustang wiring diagram.
(eec-v 104 pin)
pin 55 12v battery.
pin 71 and 97 12v switch.
pin 103 0v-ground(i put all the grounds on batt negative also 24/25/51/76/77)
pin 13 FEPS
pin 15 bus-
pin 16 bus+

I remember reading somewhere that some may use SCP or CAN but think they are eec-vi .

not sure what the ZMR2 uses

I'm nearly certain that the battery, ground, ignition and data pins are the same for all EEC-V's. I've used the same bench harness adapter for PCMs from my original 95 EEC-V from my Cougar up to the 2004 PCM that's in it now.
