If so, how is it working for you?

Just got mine last week. I've played around with the idle rpms and it does change it. I'm currently trying to get rid of my tip in detonation problem. I've tried to pull 2-6 degrees of timing out globaly but it does not seem to get rid of the detonation completely. The more I learn the more I will play around with diffrent settings. The data logging function is not working just yet. There is also another feature that tells the tweecer to read ECC which is suppose to read all your stock settings but this does not work at this time either.

Hey Killer,

The Read EEC function works -- you need to set the numerical value to the right of the Read EEC button to 2 so it will read the 2 banks needed for EECV based vehicles. If it is not reading correctly and not recognizing the binary then email me the binary after reading 2 banks. Click write changes to save it as a new file [ccf extension will be added automatically].

I assume you have a ZMR2 processor? CalEdit should automatically recognize it when reading 2 banks.
Best regards,

I'm running it on my 01 Cobra..

Thus far I have only played with the gear change/fan settings/idle/global timing. I am hesitant to play with other settings until Mike comes out with the new software with full support for the 01's. "That is assuming the 1.19 isn't complete" Not knocking ya mike :D ! I'm patient, since I really only bought the tuner to adjust the speedo for now until it's fully supported!

I'm wanting to learn more about the MAF transfer function etc.. I am currently running the 1.19 software and it's been working out great!

I can't wait for the R/T version to be released for my 02 GT (MDE2.)

Any ideas on how much longer?

We have datalogged on 98 processors and the 99+ should work the same. The only issue we have to clear is that once PIP/RPM/Load (not sure which) goes above a certain level, the logging stops (ie a WOT blast) and once it comes back down below that level the logging starts again. We have been trying to get past this for about a month and are still working on it.

Is this a hardware or software issue? If it is software I am going to go ahead and buy one as soon as they are back in stock.

It is a software issue in nature, but not CalEdit or CalCon, it is a question of finding the best location to insert our "logging loop" into the code of the EEC. We will definately get it, but the EECV's are far more complicated than the EECIV's. When I say complicated, it is more a matter of the size of the code, not complexity of the hardware, etc..

So it is safe to buy one now and not have to upgrade or send it back for modifications in the future?

So Mike, Is it safe to buy one now. I am assuming that once you guys get the bugs worked out I will just be able to D/L the software to correct the Datalogging problem. If I am going to have to send it back for any reason I will just wait.

When will the next batch be available?

Thanks for your time.

Yes, it is pretty safe, everything is funtioning correctly but we just gotta get that one issue taken care of. Feb is when, but no exact date yet.

Hey all.

Mike, I am curious if you plan to ever work on the 96+ explorer ECU's?? Reason I ask is that I think these will become the hot aftermarket unit for many custom cars and motors. They are crank fired, coil packed 5.0s' up till '01. To my knowledge they are the only 5.0 based crank fire systems ford every produced. I know a bunch of guys doing coil pack set-ups, most are trying to modify the 4.6 ECU's, but it might be a nice option to be able to pick up one of the LARGE amount of wrecked explorer systems for a project. I got mine for around $100 shipped with harness, ECU, and 99% of sensors including MAF. That low $$ I think will make them a big rival to DFI if they can get tuning support like twEECer..

ANYWAY let me know. If not I may have to look for a 96/97 EECV and hope they can see crank signalling, as I don;t have hood room for a distributor.
