I know it was a work in progress with testing a few years ago but I am not sure if it was completed or confirmed working bug free. I believe CGREY8 was working on it so I would wait for him to chime in.

If you are refering to the FN1360 patch instructions and files, I can probably dig that up. However the quicker way to get FN1360 at this point is to simply use decipha's A9L2.bin which is probably a better starting point anyway. However if you have a mature tune you just want to add FN1360 to, let me know. I'll try to dig them up. However in the meantime, refer to this thread that dates back to when that hack was developed:
FN1360 for GUFx strategies

If you are talking about something else, you'll need to be more specific about what it is you are wanting.

The AHACB strategy has two stages of rev-limiters based on drive/neutral.

Half-Fuel RPM limit in Neutral
Full-Cut RPM limit in Neutral
Half-Fuel RPM limit in Drive
Full-Cut RPM limit in Drive

It would seem to me hooking your clutch switch up to the Neutral/Drive switch could yield a similar result to that patch code.

I'm using the gufb strategy and the a9l2 bin. There's a place to enable or disable launch control on the but it days to make sure you have the patch to use it. I thought about enabling it to see if works but kinda scared! Lol

I remember you guys trying to get it to work but it lost steam and never made it far. I posted a link to the hack and topic discussion for the OP. OP just needs to enable pid z_lc_sw which is already added to the bin once the hack is added to his bin/strat.

This is what I found for, what was called the Launch Control hack.

It includes a def file that supported the Launch Control hack. However it's old. I have no clue whether it still works with BE. I didn't read the instructions to see if they are still relevant. But my guess is you'll need to use a tool like Hexedit to paste the files into your tune. If you've never dealt with HEX editors, then the procedure might be a bit confusing. BE, at one point, had the ability to do what you do in HEX edit, but I don't know where that interface is in modern BE...if it still exists.

in all honesty its a waste of time, its a very unclean fuel cut, best option is to wait til i roll out my gufx def with my two step that i already have working for cbaza, its an clean ignition cut and its much more violent and consistent

How do you have ignition cut with TFI ignition?

Those usually have their own coil driver which could easily be made to cut spark. The TFI system only has a single wire connecting it to the EEC-IV - the SPOUT wire. Unplugging the SPOUT wire just makes the TFI module default to 10* BTDC. I wasn't aware it was possible to turn off the spark via SPOUT.

I appologize as I was mistaken. After looking further into it they were trying to enable the launch control hack via fuel delivery which is something I wouldnt recommend. I would stick with the traditional MSD or equivalent 2step systems.

Cutting spark is generally accepted as not being good for engines. It causes unburnt fuel to wash the oil from the bores and wet the sparking plugs. Once into the exhaust system it can wet the HEGO sensor(s) and ignite causing an uncontrolled explosion that can damage turbochargers and catalytic converters.

Cutting fuel to a cylinder creates a lean condition which can lead to excessive cumbustion chamber/cylinder head temp, burnt valves, blown head gasket or damaged piston. In all of the race classes from sportsman to pro mod, how many damaged turbos have been reported as a result of spark cut 2 step systems, bump boxes, boost leashes or cross over delays?

both of you raise good theories but neither of which are of any concern

im not killing spark im retarding it significantly, its still firing just out closer to the exhaust, it puts a tremendous amount of heat out in the exhaust and will spool up a turbo in no time, im sure it may be possible to cause failure if done for an excessive amount of time, Ive never seen nor heard of any issues, Ive known several people who have stepped for 2-3 minutes before with no problems, Ive personally done it in my daily driver 95 gt im driving now for more than a few minutes with no issues

killing all fuel to a cylinder will only cause a couple cycles or so of a possible true lean burn until all of the fuel puddle evaporates, thats only if enough fuel comes out of suspension at once to even supppot combustion, in those conditions the inertia of the air and air speed is going to significantly reduce the likliness of that much fuel falling out at once, to further that, since the engine isnt under a load its not even a concern and wont hurt anything, at that point its only pumping air which will reduce cyl temps and cant hurt anything

Well said sir. I like yoir idea of retarding and not cutting the spark. I really dont think either method will cause any damage to any components. My personal preference is to cut or retard spark as you mentioned. Either way works. The only adverse effects I have experienced with 2 step systems is the belt walk on larger 10-12 rib and cog belt blower set ups.

Cutting fuel on a port injected engine does not cause it go lean. As said above, if there is any fuel left in the port it is likely to be so minimal that it probably wouldn't even support combustion.

Retarding spark is hard on turbochargers, when they started using it in rallying many years ago for anti-lag they found that they had to use higher spec. materials for the manifold and turbochargers as temperatures easily reached 1100 deg C.

Yup, those rally guys eat turbochargers and exhaust valves with their spark-retard anti-lag systems. They typically retard the timing to 35-45* ATDC.

Also keep in mind that spark retard two-step is pretty pointless for N/A cars. A simple two-stage rev limiter is all you need N/A.
