dies after running 15-25 seconds

Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

dies after running 15-25 seconds

Post by MikeP » Tue Jun 05, 2018 5:58 pm

installed new ignition module to fix long crank times to no starting, was and looked old, now it starts and runs perfect but turns off after 15-25 seconds will time tomorrow, but seems the same length of time each time, did not do this before, car dies will not restart without cycling the key, then starts perfectly but will die again and again, when it dies its like you turned the key off
anyone had this happen before? just wanted to post this before I left the shop, will run basic tests tomorrow

Thanks Mike

Mike ....there a couple of electrical issues that could cause this such as failing EEC relay, FP relay, ignition switch and possibly fuel pump on it's way out. In the tune it could be not enough or too much crank fuel, incorrect injector parameters, dropping below the minimum MAF clip, poorly defined MAF down low ect, ect. Too many variables and we can only guess without more data.
