EEC IV Injector Head Room

Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

EEC IV Injector Head Room

Post by 289Hilux » Mon Jul 09, 2018 3:34 am

Hi all.
I am in Australia and I use EEC IV to run my 289 Windsor with a Quaterhorse and a modified A9L tune and Bin.
It all seems to work fine American tune in a Aussie box.
I am about to embark on a rebuild a 331 Stroker, AFD C4 heads and a solid roller Comp cams.
I use a Weiand tunnel ram, 75mm Maf and 75mm T/B.
The question is how much "Head Room" is there in the EEC to control the injectors.
The math say I should use 38Lb injectors. If I used say 60Lb ones would the EEC cope OK?
What is your experience with this type of set up. Any advice will be appreciated.

Cheers Richard "289Hilux"

Nice set up. The 60's will be fine. Most will recommend investing in the Siemens Deka 80's and you will have plenty of room to grow into and extremely streetable.

Thanks for the nice comments.
I will go the 60's, Who knows I may put turbos or a vortech on there one day.

Cheers Richard.
