Strategy Code for 1992 F150

Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

Strategy Code for 1992 F150

Post by dmorehead1988 » Tue Jun 09, 2020 10:00 am

Hi everyone!

I recently recently started working on my old 1992 f150 and getting it back in shape. Had it since I turned 16 (17 years now) and just needed some age related TLC.

Anyways, I received a tweecer from someone that no longer had a vehicle to use it on. My main interest right now is to use it for data streaming and learning more about the EEC systems. Possible minor mods in the future. I started setting up tweecer but haven't been able to locate the strategy to use.

The vehicle is a 1992 F150 XLT with an extended cab. It has a 302 5.0l with an AOD transmission. Attached are some images of the EEC and the calibration code.

Would anyone happen to know the strategy to use with tweecer?

Thanks for any guidance,

There may be a definition file to support this strategy. However I suspect most people abandon these Batchfire-based Speed-Density based EECs in favor of SEFI-MAF based EECs which are easier to tune and more well-supported.

How opposed are you to replacing the EEC, plumbing in a MAF, and minor rewiring to work with the replacement EEC? If that's something you are OK with, then look at migrating the control to a CBAZA-based EEC. I would say GUFx, but those are becoming increasingly harder to come by.

Hi cgrey8 and thanks for the reply. Converting over to MAF has been something I've looked into and have definitely considered in the future. There are some other things that I will need repair before taking that on (window motors or AC for the Florida summer lol). I'll keep an eye out for a good deal on a CBAZA-based EEC. In the meantime, I wanted to test out the tweecer and start learning how to use it.

Is there a way to test strategies that this one could have? I read that strategy codes were sometimes used on multiple units. There is the U2Y that uses GSALI.
