SAD 4.0.6 in Github

This is where the BIN Hackers and definition junkies discuss the inner workings of the EEC code and hardware. General tuning questions do not go here. Only technical/hardware-specific/code questions and discussions belong here.

SAD 4.0.6 in Github

Post by tvrfan » Tue Jun 23, 2020 7:11 pm

Released latest SAD to github.

Has a BIG list of fixes - thanks to jsa for all his testing to help get here.

It's still not perfect, and I was sent some newer .bin files which don't work, so 4.0.7 will be in the daily updates today or tomorrow.....

Eventually I'll get to version 4 as a full proper working release for everything.

I hear you've been tinkering with my binary... Kind of a Trainwreck isn't it?

TrainWreck ?? Not really.............

If it was the "RSAZ" ones, it was that they have a 'short bank' in the middle of the file, (Bank 1 is 0x2000-0xdfff) and I had not allowed for this in SAD.
It's fixed in next version (4.0.7.1) in GitHub 'daily' subdiv where the tests go. These bins also seem to have an additional RAM bank at 0x1f000, so it matches up with the short bank, and makes sense.

I have since also found SAD bugs showing inconsistent banks in addresses, and various other bits, so the work goes on. Still going forwards, (like fixing up for the odd boundary words in later 8065), and confirming all those little details of address mapping etc.

I actually have a bin (can't remember where from) which has 2 bank 8 in it, which appears to be someone's mash up of an OE and a tuned version pushed together..... now THAT'S a trainwreck....

yeah, still trying to decode more bits as I go on..................
