Ran into a problem with converting my 91' F150 from E4OD to M5OD; I get the tranny, T-case, and crossmember mounted up, and there's a conflict with the VSS/Speedo cable and the corner of the front fuel tank. I cannot lower the drivetrain enough to miss it, and to move/remove the tank I'd have to pull the bed.
What are the implications of deleting the VSS? I would anticipate decel idle issues and such, but am unaware of how might affect drivability or of there's a way to compensate with the tune.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Re: Possible VSS delete?
Turn the VSS hardware present switch off in the tune.

Re: Possible VSS delete?
Will do, thanks for quick reply.
For my understanding, does this simply eliminate the function(s) that are affected by VSS input (decell, decell in/out of gear)?
Also triggers another question for the tuning community; E4OD has the shift position module which functions as a neutral safety switch, which I planned on putting in the park or neutral position and just tying up under the cab.
Does having constant neutral safety closed affect driving conditions?
I think the answer would close the loop on the manual conversion as far as electronics and the tune is concerned.

Re: Possible VSS delete?
Search the strategy doc for VSS, all the implications are covered.

Search TRLOAD in the doc. Set it in your tune to suit your transmission configuration.
