Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

Injector scalars

Post by IronLotusBKO » Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:49 pm

Hey guys, I installed 24lb injectors in place of my 19 lb ones on my 95 bronco 5.0, i know I should adjust my breakpoint and probably my minimum pulse width as well correct? Is there any kind of starting parameters for the swap? Thanks guys! I’m really new to this, really sorry if this is a dumb question. I saw a post that was kind of a beginner where to start post, but I couldn’t make heads or tails of the numbers.

Btw I am tuning with a Tweecer and use vex1 strategy. It’s a ca truck so it’s a mad system.

There's a lot of resources online, like Mike's website at EFIDynoTuning.com, but yes, an injector swap generally requires adjustment to the following functions and values:
  • Injector breakpoint
    Injector high slope
    Injector low slope
    Injector's battery voltage offset curve
Injector timing (optional and not really tunable without datalogging anyway)
Make sure you're able to find the correct datasheet for the injectors and pay attention to the pressure associated with the values in relation to the pressure you're running at the rails in your application.

Ok cool I’ll look for the data. They’re denso ones that came out of a cobra. I’m sure I can find them somewhere. I’ll check that site now I appreciate it

Ok, so I believe I found the data I need but it’s in a different format than I’m used to. Does Tweecer have a different format than others?

What format is it in? Is it just a unit conversion issue you're dealing with?

Yes I believe so, I’ll go back and find it. I haven’t had a sec to deal with it in a few days

So I’ve been busy as heck and finally got back around to tuning. I use a Tweecer and this is the format I found but don’t understand

Multiply injector slopes by 3600. The breakpoint is 2.219

Still a bit confused on Injector's battery voltage offset curve… is there a post anyone can link that explains well?

The values are slightly different because BE rounds the numbers

So I was just about to change the breakpoint and slopes on the Tweecer, (stock tip1 breakpoint is 0.000149) it’s telling me the max can only be set to 0.001 so I’m thinking i need a different format?
