ISC airflow scale for a9l/a3m1 etc

Post by moosejaw » Thu Aug 14, 2003 12:36 pm

Can this scale be expanded beyond the 2.0 pounds range? After data loging and calculating for my new neutral idle airflow function I discovered I am off scale at 1000 rpm. What is interesting is the Dashpot Preposition accepts large values but Drive/Neutral Idle Airflow do not.

I am using a 3.5 Univer @ 42# blow thru 2 linear feet from throttle(Leaned 11% to remove Pro-m enrichment). I have a stock throttle. I have a large blow-off before the meter which helps keep inlet pressures down during idle.

I think everthing is OK I just need to have this function rescaled but I can't locate a means to do it. Is this a dat setup change?

edit: OOPS! I am now using an A3M1. The A9L died this past weekend. Gottta change the sig.

Hi,

I am interested in this also. I don't think you can move the max. maybe Mike can. I extrapolated to as close as possible and kind of smoothed it out a little. Seemed to work for me, but it would be nice to get it closer. My main issue was with ISC neutral idle airflow function. For me I think it works ok because I idle below were I ran out of range.

Yeah, its kind of hard to smooth it out when it goes off chart so quick. But I have found tilting the zero RPM point upwards .3 -.6 air helps keep it somewhat linear in the useful range.

Now to keep the contacts clean. :?

I can report a better idle now. It seems that making dashpot adjustments and restarting may have been affecting learned values even if I had flushed the KAM 10 min prior. This thing learns fast. Faster than I ever thought it could. To get baseline idle values locked down good it seems that a kam flush would be proper after each dashpot adjustment.

I did another datalog of the idle and 650-2000 RPM points then diddled with the dashpot and reset kam. The car started and idled 3 times straight but could not support AC right away. I then drove 15 min and 7 miles home. Idling in the driveway I turned on the AC with no problems. Small bumps of the gas were not a problem.

I like the new idle values and will save them to insert into better tunes. BTW base idle was 650 RPM avg. with a pretty descent cam.
