New to EEC tuning
Hey guys and gals, Im searching around and Im reading what I can however is most of this for Mustangs only or could it be applied to to a truck with a V8 302, 5.0L engine?? its 100% stock as far as I can tell, but I want to get a bit of power out of it and make it a play truck once I find another to use as a DD/Work truck :) keep in mind this is a truck, not a Mustang nor is it a light toy....also there is a very good possibility of adding a turbo or supercharger down the road :D

Re: New to EEC tuning
No all of this info can be applied to all cars using the eec computer. Getting an engine to running good is ideal no matter what your doing.
Plenty to read, and feel free to ask questions.

Re: New to EEC tuning
Thanks bro, now you got me excited about figureing out how to do all this and squeez more out of the ol girl!!
oh before people start saying I need to take it to a tuner, sorry we don't really have much of that here in Louisville, and I really would rather do this on my own to learn so I can do this for any car I have in the future...and not get raped in the butt money wise....

Re: New to EEC tuning
I doubt people here are going to tell you not to learn to tune your own truck. I have an F-150 with a 5.0L in it and I'm in the process of tuning it now. It does have a stang EEC in it though. Start reading now and re-read most of it again in a couple weeks. There is a lot to take in with all this. Maybe get the free version of Binary Editor just to play with it and get used to it a little, then register it when you get a tuning device. Good luck!

Re: New to EEC tuning
x2 welcome, very doubtful anyone will tell you to take it to a tuner on this forum thats what this forum is about learning how to get these ecu's to do what you want them to
the only time some one gets referred to a tuner around here is when they don't want to learn and instead ask some one to tell them everything they need to do

Re: New to EEC tuning
well I may for things like what to do, but im always willing to take info of what im told and learn how to apply it so I can try on my own, im just worried about borking up the ECU so bad my truck becomes a 10k paper weight (hope I wont do that but you never know) but I plan to figure out every thing I can and squeez out every ounce of power and MPG (hey the 24MPG someone got with a bronco 5.0/5.8 sounds very pleasent and I want that my self so I can brag to my F150 friends and let my truck beat them in mileage hehe) and maybe take it to a drag track and let it play where the stangs play too ;)
