DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Ok so I have the new DataQ DI-149 and am having trouble getting it to connect and log in BE. At the momment I have a wideband connected to it. Now I know that the computer connects to the DataQ just fine because if I use the DataQ software I can see the wideband output of the DI-149. However if I try to use BE to see CH1 of teh DataQ when logging it says that the DataQ is not connected and ends the log. Am I missing something here? I have checked that the com port is correct in the windows device manager etc. Any input would be appreciated.

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Try plugging the dataQ in first then open BE, watch for the green light on the bottom right to come on.
Is BE registered? Is the DataQ enabled in the hardware tab of BE? You also can try to log ''without'' the
moates box enabled and with the DataQ enabled and see if it logs.

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
If you did enable DataQ, then you should next configure it. In the configuration box you need to enter a transfer. to see a pic of this click the url that follows. http://olr.orobbins.com/orma_car/BE-dataq.JPG
Another thing is that you have to give channel 1 a name, (AFR). Then in BE in the Dashboard tab you have to edit one of the boxes to look for AFR.

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Thank you both for your suggestions but all of the stuff you have suggested I have tried. Any other thoughts? It sees the DataQ when I start up BE but when I try to log it does not connect.

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Make sure you are not trying to run any Dataq software at the same time. Sometimes I have trouble logging, because BE does not like the sequence that I start. Whenever I can't start logging on the first attempt, I disconnect my Quarterhorse and Dataq cables and then I start the car, connect the cables and then start BE. Try different combinations like that and see if it helps

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Ill give it a shot when I get a chance. I am wondering if there is an issue with the box being such a new version and not having the right code in BE for it?

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Do not do this for this can damage the QH. Is BE registered?I start the car, connect the cables and then start BE.

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Perhaps my QH is already damaged, I don't really know. I have done this since I got my QH and I got one of the first one's when it came out. What is the technical basis for what you are saying. What is the correct sequence for starting and connecting this equipment.
I'm not positive, but I would think his BE would have to be registered, or else he would not be able to enable the Dataq which requires an additional license.

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Both new models of the DataQ DI145 and DI149 are not in the supported list of BE. The DataQ web site states the DI145 can run in the DI194 legacy mode. This has proven to work with some clients that have the new DI145. I have not read far enough to know if the 149 has a legacy mode.
Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Thanks for the replies. If you get a chance can you look into if it can be run in legacy mode? That is the only thing that I can think of as BE recognizes it is there untill I try and log. Yes my version of BE is registered and i do have the DataQ add on for logging.

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
I went to the Dataq site this morning and had a look at the manuals. What I would suggest is that you go to their support site and submit a help ticket and ask them. Here is a link to the DI-149 white paper which discusses it's protocols. I did not see anything about a legacy mode. http://www.dataq.com/support/techinfo/d ... tocol.html. In your manual they mention avoiding specific com ports. Based on that and my total lack of knowledge, I suggest that you might also try changing the com port just to see what happens. The White paper says that you can download a virtural com driver for windows. Take a look at this and see if any of the information can help you.

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
Clint,
It does not look like it has a legacy mode according to compairing the features section in the two users manuals. This could be the problem. Will there be any support for the use of the DI-149 in BE? Programing is deffinatly not one of my strong suits. If I need to I guess ill have to order a DI-145. I do not know why they would make the DI-145 backwards compatable but not the DI-149.

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
I need to order one and still have not done so. I still have a DI148U. I will see if i can order one this week,
Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
ok, if I plug the DataQ in first, then open BE, it works for the first log. As soon as you stop logging, it loses connection to DataQ and then you have to close BE, unplug and replug DataQ and start BE again...weird

Re: DataQ DI-149 Logging Issue
next time it losses communications see if pressing Ctrl + P brings it back. This forces BE to rescan the USB ports
