Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

I see two different maf transfers here. Your bin i looked at yesterday went to only 1009 KG/HR
The one you show goes almost to 1287 KG/HR. Did you change your maf transfer? If not
you need to import your maf transfer from your tune and calculate the log against that maf, but
i still don't see that causing that ugly mess. Post another Log.

i fixd it! i missed the setting in EA to change to lambda. yes i used the newer (im calling it .03) transfer to compare. the new curve it gave me is pretty damn close. but i only played with the car in idle, i just finished putting the bumper back on so i couldnt drive it around. also ran into a couple problems where i was apparently using the wrong tune. i had disabled a few things (adaptive etc) in one tune but not the other i guess or i forgot to save. either way its all fixed now and tomorrow will be a nice test

its so close you can barely see the other curve (but like i said, only at a couple low voltages). tomorrow ill take another log while driving.

Adjust FN320A Load percent columns too.

Load%
60.00
60.00
70.00
50.00
50.00
50.00
50.00
These settings will get it into FN1307 (O/L Table) quicker.

Make sure you set HLCTM to 0.000 volts. VERY IMPORTANT

Remember
Load% controls fuel
Load controls spark

FN348 is cranking pulsewidth vs ECT. Set the mSEC values to this

mSec
0.79
0.79
0.91
2.26
4.15
5.60
8.66
15.34
15.34

Did you adjust FN824? Did you (find the V)?

i made the adjustments listed except for the cranking pulsewidth. mine were pretty damn close bc i multiplied them by a factor 19/47 when i changed the injectors. they're just a tad bit richer, which i assume is ok?

.81
.81
.93
2.3
4.25
5.72
8.85
15.67
15.67

and i never have a problem starting really

and no i havent played with fn824. ill do some research on it

also in regards to the maf, im looking into a diablosport MAFia adapter now. give me some extra range on that curve.

ok ran some logs today. using this tune
turbo-47#-C3W1-SeaLevelOnly-BoostLoad-AdaptiveOFF-.03.BIN
the first run i took around my block and just got through the gears to make sure everything was working. i noticed it ran great except for when i was in gear and let off the gas it went way lean. no dfso flags throughout the whole log. at ET 385.94 you can see it goes to closed throttle while still in 3rd gear and by ET 387 its nearing 1.3 lambda.
12-19-first of the day.csv
second and third i got progressively more ballsy and got into boost. thing hauls
@ ET 102 i noticed again its full lean. closed throttle. in gear, but clutch in this time so the engine could come down to idle rpm's and still uber lean. also pegged maf, gonna def get a MAFia extender.
2011_Dec_19_13-02-13.csv
otherwise a fantastic run

final quick run around the block

I see your a fast learner your FN348 is correct.

FN035 will need to be adressed also, Decipha has an great post on this subject in the FAQ. Here
are my settings.

RPM LOAD
16384 100.00
5000 120.00
3500 120.00
2000 86.00
1350 84.00
1000 80.00
0 78.00

These settings will work for your turbo setup.

Also THBP5 will need adjusted (TPS-Breakpoint voltage for open loop).
My value is 1.79 plus ratch (last seen start up TPS voltage) so if your TPS voltage was .96 you add 1.79 plus .96 = 2.75. Stock value is 2.77 volts plus ratch = breakpoint for OL at 3.73 volts.
This changed value is for if you ever simply press the gas slowly from idle to redline without
ever going over your FN320A Load value to cause it to go open loop it goes OL at 2.75 volts
with my new value as in my example.

Why would you make your 16xxx rpm load 100? I would think 150-200 would be the better choice.

and im having alittle trouble understand fn824. its the rate of change of the iac? so lets say i wanted to lower my idle speed. id have to change all the things from this topic? viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17591&hilit=fn824

additionally, how do i tune in my fn875 values. does this have to do with airflow with iac unplugged? im unsure the procedure for this if ya dont mind explaining

Well EDS50 this was a copy paste from a Cougar5.0 tune i seen a few years ago and used.
I did not question the value then but i just assumed the load would be dropping below
that 120 after 5000 rpm and not keep climbing, as always if this is not right i humbly submit
my ignorance. I never had the chance to look at a log of mine because of constant issues. I still have a constant error38 code in EA when trying to do some calculations. I don't have one log of a
high RPM/LOAD conditions of my car, and a total loss of all logs when my netbook failed. I've
seen many post where there was talk of 160 to 200% load but never looked at their tunes since
i didn't know how to even do that.

The FN824 comment was a post i should have placed in another thread i'm in, since you are
running the stock NUBASE settings you will not have to adjust FN824. Sorry about that.

I know this is not a full throttle run but when i ran your log thru EA it calculated 152 load AT
3744 RPM so if your cam is stock this would be your peak torque rpm zone, looking at the log at
ET 62.008 @5032 RPM your at 119.7 load and at ET 62.51 @5512 RPM your at 98.2 load.

Your FN035 should look like this calculated by EA

16384 100.00
5000 120.00
3700 145.00
2000 86.00
1350 84.00
1000 80.00
0 78.00

Change it back to this...

YOUR 170 IS WRONG...I did change the 3500 RPM value to 3700RPM. This will have to be
revisited as your tune improves.

By the way you were looking at VE (Volumetric effeciency) of 163 ve.

ok i changed it. and theres two columns in ea. one for load and one for ve. i think they both got into the 160's. i changed the values back to how you had it though. essentially am i just trying to find the highest load for each rpm here in like a full throttle all out run?

First off what file is this? I looked at 05 05.csv, last numbers of file. ALL changes to the tune are
done in BE not EA. Do you see the graph in BE FN035 when you open it? If you dont move your
cursor on to the black display screen and right click then move to extents and click and a graph will
appear. Post a screen shot of FN035 for me so i can see what your doing.

You got it man, by the way that car of yours is going to rock when you get it straightened
out. Move your cursor on the display screen on the line and you see the load and rpm.

sure, assuming your using a PC (macs are different), there should be a button on the keyboard that says PrtSc or Print Screen or PrntScrn or some combo like that. its most often the button after the F12 key up top right. but it could be anywhere mattering on the keyboard. once you click that your entire screen gets saved to the clip board (which is where things get saved when you hit "copy" or "cut" with text). next hit Start or the windows button and look for MSPaint or Paint. its usually in programs/accessories. but you can probably do a search for it. once it opens, you want to "paste" the screen shot into paint by holding CTRL and v at the same time on your keyboard. TADA! now you can edit/crop out the unimportant stuff on the screen like your other windows and stuff.

if you have windows 7 then you have an easier way too. you can find Snipping Tool in programs/accessories and then it'll let you drag a square over the part of the screen you want to capture. really easy, but i dont think its on other versions of windows.

when you save the image though you want to save it as a .jpeg. also you may have to crop/resize images to be under 900x800 pixels (thats a limit with EECTuning).

http://take-a-screenshot.org/

dont forget to save the jpeg to a place you know. like to your desktop or to your documents. that way when you try to attach it you'll be able to find it.

Open the 05 05.csv file and if you look at ET 60.60 TO 62.31 your lambes at 60.60 is
.84 and a mafv of 2.37 is the point that the lambda starts to go rich by 1% and as the
rpm climbs and at ET 62.31 mafv is at 3.58 volt the lambes are at .84 but your lambda is
at .7209 meaning it's 12% rich so you will need to reduce the KG/HR values
1% starting at 2.37 mafv to 12% at 3.58 mafv. 8% is probably a better increase to be on
the safe side. Look at which you consider a better datalog and compare it to what i posted
to see if were on the same page. Look 2500 rpm to 6000 rpm if you took it that high under
load.

I looked at RPM from 2744rpm to 5256rpm because your mafv was dropping in the
next row.

Seen your post on showing screen shots, will practice tonight on getting one up. Thanks

yep that worked!

about richening the curve. is there an easy way to do that besides using a calculator at each point? shouldnt my new maf curve in EA have calculated this? im not doubting you, i just wanna know how to make it do the calculations for me.

All that can be done in EA but your fueling has to be correct, EA and the datalog filters have to be configured properly and if your trying to tune your fueling or maf with adaptive learning enabled; you will have a difficult time getting it right since adaptives are always making corrections.
