CBAZA Def Updates
I have been going through a lot of the definition file for CBAZA on Tuner Pro to add some of the missing parameters to tune my 94 GT. The Tuner Pro def has basically the same parameters as the Free XLS CBAZA, so far I have added a lot of the Idle Settings that Decipha referrs to in his CBAZA Idle article and a couple other random parameters as well. I plan to add any parameters that I need as I go along tuning.
I am adding these into Tuner Pro, but if anyone wants to put them into the Free XLS file for BE I can post them up with Address, Title and Conversion. Just let me know and I will throw a doc together with what I have so far.

Re: CBAZA Def Updates
Sure, feel free to merge the thread. I saw that post and I was not sure if the info I have fit the discussion. It seemed to be more around descriptions of the existing parameters, what I was doing is adding new parameters that are currently only in the encrypted files that I cant use in Tuner Pro. Like these:EDS50 wrote:I have a thread covering this if you want me to merge them together.

Re: CBAZA Def Updates
i thought the aircharge scalars were in the cbaza xls?
just for the record, the tip in throttle position scalar isn't used in cbaza, its skipped in the code
i know the isc offset is in the xls, if memory serves its labeled, global adder
twisted... as much as i admire you taking the time to disassemble the cbaza strategy your time would probably be better spent focusing on the less supported ecu's, the cbaza ecu is just about completely broken out

Thanks for the info decipha, good to know on the Tip In TP Scaler.decipha wrote:i thought the aircharge scalars were in the cbaza xls?

Disassembling the CBAZA for my own personal use since that is what is on my car and so I will know the system inside out when I tune it. Just the way I like to do things. The aircharge scalars are in the XLS but they were not in the Tuner Pro definition - sorry for the confusion.
Re: CBAZA Def Updates
If I remember right, there were a couple of settings needed for changing engine size that aren't in the generic .xls definition. Most were associated with the PIP signal IIRC?
I'll look over my notes to get details and maybe you can add those in?

Here is a list of the things I had to change in order to use CBAZA to run my 2.3 4cyl...
Uncovering these would be of value... in my opinion anyway...

Wow
I have a couple days off coming up, so I will try these out and get back with confirmation of functionality.
Thank you,
jason

Re: CBAZA Def Updates
quick question, instead of beating your head against the wall and trying to decipha all these values why don't you just spend the $25 and get the full cbaza def? will save you a bunch of grief and it has much more than you'll want to figure out yourself in it

Re: CBAZA Def Updates
Good question Decipha, I do need to qualify my answer first by saying I have a lot of respect for Clint and Derek for what they have built with BE and EA and Derek with the def files. They are a great product for a lot of people that want to open up a computer and start tuning. That being said, this combination does not work for me for a several reasons.
1) I don't like having an encrypted BIN file, it does not allow me to move to another tuning package at will like having a plain old BIN file does. If I spend the time to setup a nice tune, I want it to be mine to use.
2) The way the Licenses are setup for BE are more restrictive than I like, as opposed to Tuner Pro where I can download and install on any computer , use it on any hardware etc.
3) For me, the whole point of DIY EEC tuning is learning about the system and how it works, with the encrypted files, that is not possible, it is all locked down.
4) I like the interface of Tuner Pro a bit better than BE.
All of that being said, I understand why BE is set up the way it is, and I have no problem with it, but it is just not the product for me. At this point, I have my CBAZA def file with probably about 99% of the items that I need to do the tune like I want, if I find something I want to change it currently takes me around 5 -10 min to find parameters that I want to add.

Re: CBAZA Def Updates
i completely agree with your sentiment, encrypted files are a pain more times than not, me personally im all for open source, hence why i tend to spread as much knowledge as i can
Re: CBAZA Def Updates
Bringing back an oldie...
I have zero knowledge on how defs work, so I apologize if this is really basic, but how exactly do I add these parameters to my CBAZA def - either the BE def (.xls) or TP? I'm especially interested in the Z_AFR.
Thanks
