Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

ive got adaptive disabled. i filter out dfso aefuel and eftrff and get this.
yepyep.jpg
i got pretty rich while driving around today. didnt have the laptop hooked up, but was floating in the 12's for regular cruising and light driving. also i still cant figure out why it goes full lean when its in gear and i get off the gas. like when engine breaking. i dont have dfso enabled either

It appears that you are driving around in full time o/l according to your filter. If thats the case what do you have your base open loop fuel table set to? Are you using fn1360? What are your injector settings, slopes and what not? You have to be careful with multipliers. I always set them to 1 and your transients might be off causing your decel issues.

yea i have o/l forced until i tune it in. i thought it would be easier.
i dont even know what fn1360 is.

i havent touched my base ol table.
yepyep.jpg
and the transient decel mult is 1. but ive no idea how to dial in the tables

It can be done using EA lean/rich feature. (But the calculator works better) READ ON. You can
use the number up/down button to enrich or lean your curve by a percentage
at a particular KG/HR / Volt point. Read the help feature. Also you need to adjust the maf
transfer function that was associated with the 05 05.csv file i looked at, this is VERY important. In other words you adjust the maf transfer function used to create that log.

Save a copy of your ORIGINAL transfer function to fall back on. EA is not as precise as a calculator where you can interpolate the exact proper value. Using EA and raising it by 1% wherein
the next row only needs maybe 1 3/4% removed instead of 2%. Bottom line use your calculator.

ok thx. will do. i have like 20 tunes, i never save them to the same file i have like different naming schemes to keep track of everything.
currently at maf.04.csv and each time i edit it i'll save a new file like maf.05.csv.

im gonna hook up the diablosport MAFia when it comes so you wouldnt happen to know if i can simply scale down the entire curve by some percent or if it works like that?

What numbers are the lambes at during the lean decel, your goal is to get the decel
lambes around .95 .96 so when you tip in your commanding rich already and don't get
a lean tip in. The transient decel multiplier is PID MEFTRD. Adjust MEFTRD to 1.5 and see if that helps.

Looking at your base ol table i would change the 70 row 180* column to .922 and the 70 row
210* to .922 At .997 it's to lean at that load.

i typically demand stoich on tip out and tip in slightly rich using accel enrichment, that way the hegos don't correct for the fueling being off by

i couldn't possibly dial in fuel with the fuel table setup the way it is, it would be very difficult for even the most advanced tuners to get it where it needs to be when the lambses are constantly being throw around, get it close and let the hego's do the perfecting

Decphia do you just keep raising the MEFTRD value until you hit stoic on decell and then
adjust the entire FN1303 table by a percentage? Are we talking like 2 to 3 percent
or like 25%? I understand injector size and cubic inch affect this so lets say 326ci 48lb/hr inj.

i get it close using the global multiplier then once its close i dial it in using the table

on the newer ecu's i just go straight for the tables but the older ecu's do not have them

took her out for a nice leisurely drive today. still havent put in the MAF.i.a. yet so cant really get on it all too hard, might do that today. im gonna use setting too which is supposedly a 24% leaning. so it says to divide my curve by 0.76, makes sense. thing ran great btw. pretty close lambses. noticed alittle lean at idle which EA also saw and adjusted for my new calculated maf transfer. i had changed the MEFTRD to 1.5 from 1 and still lean so i upped to ~1.8. i'll see how that works. i can have the lightest possible foot, so that im decelerating, and the afr will be perfect until the throttle position switches to closed and then its crazy lean. like .1v difference and huge afr difference. but only with the clutch engaged. if i decel with the clutch pedal in, the engine idles fine while the car slows down. i figured id specify just to make sure im playing with the right variable.

note: i calculate my maf curves with these filter settings. in case i should try somthing different? but it seems to be working out fine.
yepyep.jpg
some terminology. tip in? tip out? that has to do with when i press the gas and when i release it? if so im a rich tip out and slightly lean tip in

VM you need to make sure kams are at 1.00 or close (1.02-.98) is good first. Enable closed loop
and make a log. Idle fuel needs to be correct before making any adjustments to your transient or
the accel table or scalars. You can avg kams in excel...

Slopes need to be correct thru EA 1st
ISCKAM2 =0 1st
IPSIBR =0 1st If these two are not zero your fn875n and ITHBMA is wrong, also you need a maf within 3% 1st...

Create that log with all kinds of driving conditions.

Please explain what you mean Decipha, if i recall right you mentioned using the global
multipliers to cure lean tip in, i for one do not want to lead someone down the wrong
path. I prefer you help me learn and not sit out, honestly... My thoughts on AEM
is that I increased his accelerator fuel shot pump by roughfully 5%

first off - MERRY CHRISTMAS!

ok im still dialing in the fuel since i put the MAFia on. i used setting three big 1.41 factor wasnt enough. still increased the curve another 8% or so. tomorrow im going to drive it around on route to my family christmas party. that'll give me a long enough log to get the transfer real close.

ive been looking up ISCKAM2 and IPSIBR in BE. i cant find either, but i can find a few references to IPSIBR. im still running without adaptive and without c/l until i can get the maf transfer perfect. then i'll worry about the transients etc. the tip in isnt really my main concern. at the moment i just wanna be able to engine break - because currently its still peaking lean when i try. although is it really that bad? since there should be super low load?

heres my current tune. note ive changed the maf transfer immensely to compensate for the MAFia.
turbo-47#-C3W1-BoostLoad-AdaptiveOFF-1.3.BIN
its alittle lean all around except idle is pretty rich. what worries me is that the MAFia is going to skew the curve instead of attenuating it linearly. since i had the transfer pretty close up until then i was hopign to just multiply the whole thing by some number but it appears that isnt so. will update asap, but again, MERRY CHRISTMAS

ran a couple miles around town today. took two logs which you can merge. both use this tune
turbo-47#-C3W1-BoostLoad-AdaptiveOFF-1.4.BIN
log1 - really didnt get a chance to open it up. damn traffic
log2 - few nice sprints with boost.
Datalogs.zip
i got a new maf curve for it but the curve doesnt seem to be very straight. merged two logs, filtered those three things out. its got some weird angles though between 300 and 800 kg/hr.
eec.jpg
things i noticed. rich idle. i think my tip in is pretty rich too if i hit the pedal for a sec it pegs rich. i was trying to fix the decel issue and i guess i ended up enriching the tip in. decel still pegs lean. weird. other than that it runs great.

i think i have my maf transfer pretty good. i enabled cl and adaptive today and took it for a spin. the lambses were super lean. i never got a warm hego flag. and it never went into closed loop. the hego's appear to be switching. but i noticed it was trying to stay lean most of the time. like even when i gave it alittle gas it was still not going to the base OL table it was trying to find stoich. why cant i get a warmhego flag and a cl flag?
