Which EEC-V do I need for my 414W?
Howdy Everybody,
I'm building a Factory Five Racing Spyder GT with a 414cid stroker 351W and need a little help.
My engine has AFR 205 heads, 10.0:1 cr, AFM N-71 cam, Edelbrock Victor Jr EFI intake, 4barrel TB, Summit 42lb injectors, FFR headers, MSD cam sync plug, MSD LS-1 coils, crank wheel and sensor, and a custom EFI/COP wiring harness w/ a Ford EEC-V connector.
My thoughts are to use a Ford 4.6 2V EEC-V with a QH to control my fuel and ignition.
I do not have an ecu yet and I really do not have a clue as to what I really need.
I can get one from the local Pick-N-Pull out of a '96-97 T-bird, '96-'03 Crown Vic, etc, but not one from a Mustang. So, how do I know which one will be supported by the available software?
Plus can anyone provide a basic startup type tune so I can get the engine running?
Thanks in advance.
Paul

Howdy decipha,
In which car can I find a cdan4 ecu or do I need to check various cars until I find one?
Why is the cdan4 ecu better than others?

Howdy,
Ok, I found one. It's a MBE2 CDAN4 out of a '96 Town Car.
Now what do I do?
I need a basic tune from someone that has a similar engine for a starting point.

ha good luck, sounds like your in a bit of a hurry for results, your best bet would be to just get someone to make u a base tune
Re: Which EEC-V do I need for my 414W?
Howdy,
I've been doing my homework and BE doesn't look too tough to handle.
I'm a month away from starting my engine but I want everything rounded up for when I get to that point.
Thanks for the help.

Howdy vristang,
Here's a link to my build thread........
http://www.ffcars.com/forums/41-ffr-spy ... build.html
I need to update it and add a few new pics. Most of the pics are from my iPhone so they are low quality.
Working OT today so I will not get much done this weekend.

Will keep everyone updated. I have a lot of questions to ask and things to learn about EEC-V tuning.vristang wrote:I'm very interested in hearing how you progress with this. Please keep us postedStengun wrote:Howdy,
