So, to begin last fall, I started with actually listening to Pony and getting myself a new maf, which is yet to be wired up. Then I needed a new clutch which brought up a whole discussion over on the NMRA board which in turn resulted in me getting the car legal in F/S, which in turn resulted in me doing, this, and that, and why the hell not this too to the car. I've gone from deciding I was going to keep it as is with minimal changes over the winter to a mass beat-down with all these new changes being thrown at it now. I'm not really sure where the decision was made, but I do know that one of the things done was to decide to go from the current 3.73 gears to a class norm, 4.30. Thanks to cougarnut281 aka Ryan I was able to pick these up for a steal after meeting him at the last open track day of the season. Too bad I have decided to send them out for polishing and coating that costs more than a new gear set
This wasn't the only thing I've splurged on for the car this winter due to the fact I have been on unlimited OT the entire time. (I think the wife is about to kill me with all this car stuff) so she got her wish of a newer TT for the spring but I've got, new gears, well used ones anyway, used (new to me) bbk long tubes and matching x-pipe, the 02-04 maf so I'm not pegging it anymore, new aluminum flywheel, clutch and p/p and sfi bellhousing, a Scotty Brown class legal custom cam, some "fancy" special bearings, going from a nice aftermarket intake to an exploder upper/lower, and other piddly stuff to show for myself.
In short, I haven't done any of this in progression so this is going to be a whole new car and there will be many tuning variables that I will need to take care of so...I'll be back
On top of this all, I need to break in the clutch, and establish a decent tune via the q/h so my buddy Ed at X&M Hotrods (user here but don't know actual username) can get me on the dyno and flash a chip for me. Yes, I know, a chip, but the q/h is not legal in the class, and I can't afford a PMS.
I see there are ALOT of new users kicking around, and I also see the regulars that I turn to when I need help still thanklessly dishing out the ever important info we all need, so I say Thank You to all of you "regulars".
If you've made it down to here you have probably realized there was really no point in this entire post and all of this rambling, so to sound like a quote from Billy Madison, you are all dumber now from listening
