if im not mistaken i thought sailorbob was the author of the tunerpro gufb def
Re: A9L2 base tune
TunerPro is an excellent software but I consider it over the top when it comes to how its set up and how customizable it is. The only issue I have with TP is its complexity not being very user friendly at first and the lack of a real dashboard like what Clint has in BE. If you need any help with TP just contact Craig and he will spend the time with you to answer all your questions and get set up.vlydeka wrote:EDS50 wrote:You are correct.vlydeka wrote:Now I got wiring question:)
I have innovate LC-1 and would like to wire one analog signal into my ECU. Looking at the wiring diagram, looks like I need to wire into #27 pin (EGR position), correct?
Do I need to make any changes to the bin, besides voltage transfer function? Like enable some EGR signal, etc.?
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14947
nice write up, thank you. I will have to change transfer function in tunerPRO, but it's similar to BE. Looks like I need to change equation, but it shouldn't be that hard :)
I'm trying to stay with TunerPRO, a lot of guys saying that it's really good software once you learn how to use it, even it's little bit more complex than BE. I will try to learn it

you have to open the .bin file with a ford tuning program, binary editor, caledit, eec editor, tunerpro or the like

This a9l2is a good starting point but needs to stop being looked at by everyone as a "one size fits all" tune. It will work for some and not work for others depending on their engine combinations.

Re: A9L2 base tune
When you say hardly running do you mean at idle or all through the RPM band. I have had great sucess with it. I can tell you if you MAF curve isn't right it wont run at an acceptable level. I know because I tried to just adjust parts of the curve myself and killed the car needed to go back to a previuos tune and try again.erikm wrote:tried it on my setup, with only injector and MAF settings changed to match my car...it will hardly stay running.

Have you used the Compare function in BE to see what in your stock AL9 tune is really different from the AL92?

i did, would barely idle and would rev at all. maf curve is from EA for a 70mm, injector settings are from BE formulaJoeFFR5294 wrote:When you say hardly running do you mean at idle or all through the RPM band. Re: A9L2 base tune
Set the maf curve and fuel injector settings to the stock a9l or a9l2 settings and see how she runs. The car should run fine with the stock a9l or Deciphas a9l2. If idle air spark and fuel is not dialed in or the throttle body set screw is not set correctly your car will act the way it is.erikm wrote:i did, would barely idle and would rev at all. maf curve is from EA for a 70mm, injector settings are from BE formulaJoeFFR5294 wrote:When you say hardly running do you mean at idle or all through the RPM band. ED beat me to the punch ** Bad info on my part see below. Then data log and use just the maf fitting tool in EA til it runs well enough to then work on your idle http://efidynotuning.com/ford/idleair101.htm and fueling viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18470

Re: A9L2 base tune
If you set the maf curve to stock then the injector settings should be set to stock. The maf is calibrated for 30#'s using the stock 19# settings. If you set the hi slope to 30 and lo slope to 40 that is going to make the car run like poo.JoeFFR5294 wrote:ED beat me to the punch ** Try exporting or manually entering the stock AL9 89 -93 MAF curve and set the injectors at high slope 30 and low slope 40 and it should run. Re: A9L2 base tune
the purpose of the a9l2 is being a base to start from instead of using the junk calibrations henry made for the foxbodies
but you still have to tune it just like you would otherwise

don't get it... conflicting info! MAF curve was imported from EA for 70mm which is what i have.. injector settings were set according to info i found in BE..."typically 1.33x slope for 19lb... 1.08x high slope for 83lb" ... unless my math messed up i have them set for 30lb high slope and 40lb low slope...BP is like 3.05 i remember correctly(BE isn't displaying like it was??)EDS50 wrote:If you set the maf curve to stock then the injector settings should be set to stock. Info is not conflicting. Its tuning. The curves in ea are outdated. You also need to remember to clear the kamrfs if you have adaptives enabled when making maf curve and injector changes. outdated isn't the word that comes to mind more like wrong, i can guarantee air never flowed through a pipe like the curve suggests

When you say that kamrfs needs to be cleared, does that mean that I need to change MAF TF or fuel to get kamrfs to 1, or there some kind of timer that I need to reset every time when I make changes to the MAF or fuel?EDS50 wrote: .........

set the kamclr scalar to clear then update then change it back to normal and update again
if you have a 94 or newer strategy then you have to clear kams while the engine is OFF

As I understand A9L2 bin has e-fan enabled, correct?
What values should I change to see if my is working, when I have ignition ON and coolant is cold? Should I change only high speed ON temperature to really low number?

Re: A9L2 base tune
I was able to get mine engine to start with couple changes to new A9l2 cal:
Injectors slopes =60lb
Engine displacement =331
MAF transfer function from EA
Injectors offset vs voltage from EA
Throttle air flow to 0.55
When engine was idling "check engine" light was flashing. Can I read error codes and clear it with this software? Is there a flag that show if engine is in the limp home mode?
Second question: LAMBSE target looks correct 14.7, but my wideband AFR ~22, way too lean. Number dropped once I started changing injector slopes. I had to change from 60 to 52. I understand my MAF TF is not dialed in, but should I try to get it close with injector slopes?
KAMRF=1 all the time, is it correct? Efficiency number ~0.6
