CBAZA base tune

Post by decipha » Sat Aug 11, 2012 4:52 pm

just like the A9L2 base tune for the foxbody ecu's heres a base tune for folks to get started on the CBAZA ecu's

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT LOAD ANY TEMPLATES OTHER THAN INJECTOR AND MAF VALUES, you could inadvertently negate a change and have some odd behavior, specifically the long tube header template and what not, its not needed

http://info.efidynotuning.com/t4m2.htm

the download also includes the U4P2 for ecu controlled automatic transmissions

just like the A9L2 this is good for basically anything from stock to turbo nitrous

wish I could use it, but supposedly sailorbob's strategy won't work on BE2012.....really could use a little head start. I atleast have the car idling now.

I was comparing this to the tune I have been playing with. I noticed you have changed quite a bit. Which calibration is it based on? Say I were to run this on mine, what would you suggest changing besides? Combo is 342 stroker, 190 trickflow fac heads, track head intake, 70mm throttle body and elbow, 80mm maf, 5 speed, no emissions.

Currently I have the high and low slopes set, injector breakpoint, battery offsets entered. Along with CI, trans type, egr and thermactor turned off. I havnt really played with fuel or timing yet, as I am trying to learn more. It does run good, but I know it has alot more in it.

its based on my own calibration :)

just throw your sarchg, injector values and maf values in and set the transmission type and transmission control strategy scalars to disabled (standard transmission)

Can you further explain sarchg? I have pops Cbaza strategy. Could it be listed as something else? Sometimes it gets confusing reading here versus whats listed in the definition file.

sarchg is an abbreviation of standard aircharge it may be labeled as engine displacement

Would it work equally as well on a Kenne Bell setup? I've been tinkering with mine for months. Every time I think I have it at a spot where it's driveable and I can move on to the next issue, the original issue pops back up.... Would at least be good to compare it to.

Yeah, just figured I'd ask instead of assume. My IAT sensor has been relocated to the number 5 runner, I'll have to account for that in the tune, correct? My base was done by Lasota Racing so I didn't have to mess with any of those settings initially.

maybe maybe not just depends, the act spark multiplier function controls the timing retard for act

its multiplied by .1 in the act multiplier table (10x) so just knock the decimal over one position and you've got your retard

-30 is 3 degrees retard, -60 is 6 degrees retard, etc...

can you send me your lasota tune, i'd be interested in seeing how well he knows these ecu's

Ha. No I was given that after I had ordered my tuning setup from him to try and get me at least pointed in the right direction. That bad huh? I never compared it to a stock tune. Car started at least, good enough to get me going to do dial in my MAF curve. I'm waiting for a dongle from Clint and then I'll be giving yours a try. I'm sure it will be an improvement.

Yeah, Clint is shipping out the dongle for me next week so I can use the premium def. I've been tinkering with the basic def since I bought the setup earlier this year. It'll be nice to have a full featured one for a change.

Decipha should we adjust the Throttle Body Airflow scalar accordingly as well?

Decipha.....How are our borderline spark tables this far off? I was trying to be aggressive.

My base tables are 55'd out.

The car does feel down on power, so maybe I've got too much timing????

damn it, shitty internet just caused me to lose about a 35 minute post

in short this is a base tune for everything, its not custom spec'd for everybody calibration as that is basically impossible with the limited spark control the ford ecu gives you, if you want something that you just plug in and go then you'll have to wait for the d.e.c.

spark is referenced based off load look at the row scaling, a stock 94-95 5.0 can only reach 75 load which would give them 22 degrees with this map, which is on the edge of detonation with 87 octane (in the mid rpms at least)

with your setup, I... would add 17 degrees from 45 load and up, and 13 degrees below that

if you do that correctly at 3k+ rpm youll get 35 degrees at 120 load and at 35 load youll get 55 degrees

just because you see 10 degrees at the top of the map doesn't mean anything, no tune should ever be allowed to get up there, only reason i do that is incase the reference line blows off the waste gate (had it happen) every little bit of safety helps when the 4 bar map sensor pegs out, could mean the difference between replacing head gaskets or replacing blocks

enjoy

Do you use IE? I got tired of IE loosing my posts too. Firefox allows you to hit the back key and get what you typed back. IE doesn't. It got so bad for a while that I was literally copy/pasting all long responses into a text editor just so I still had my text in case the Internet took a dump all over my response.

oh yeah also, instead of pasting the word, you can press the print screen button possibly "PrtSC" in the proximity of the backspace key, then go to pbrush and paste it, save the pic and post that, makes it much easier

I totally spaced on looking at the load. My load scaling only goes to 90, and at WOT, I see loads in the 90's. Should I rescale my load? Nitrous is in my future.

I'll play around with your timing recommendations.

if your only getting up to 90 load then be sure everything at 120 load and up is no more than 34

90's load N/A WOT

Will be higher with N2O.

Do I need to rescale load?

you should be ok for now, just be sure 120+ isn't over 34, you still gotta tune it though
