Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

dsftm is the minimum time you must be on the throttle in order for dfso to work

you can set it to 0 with no ill effects

lots of things going on in there no doubt. i tried it on one of my grudge cars. a9l forced ol e85 347 blower car with 2 stages of nitrous. and it didn't even want to idle. didn't give it much though as i was at the track, so i went back to my old tune. i will work on it some more this weekend and give it another try. maybe on a more stockish a9l set up.

Setting dsftm to zero got rid of all my decel popping. I can still hear a pop between the 1-2 shift sometimes though. I am going to download the new a9l2 bin and try it out as well.

You might as well have just disabled dfso all together.....

installing A9L2 on my mild 347 tonight, gonna change cid, injector slopes, put in the MAF function I got from pro-m, and cross my fingers. runs pretty good on the stock tune, hoping for a smooth transition....

Should DELTA have been changed

Post by JoeFFR5294 » Tue Nov 06, 2012 9:42 pm

In my reviewing of the AL92, my tune, and the original stock AL9 I came across the DELTA "TPS Break point voltage" scaler. I noticed it was changed in the AL92 tune from stock. I further saw that the notes said to adjust this only if adjusting DELHYS "Dashpot TP" and DELRAT " ISC Ram Control TP".

Delta was changed from stock of .04 to .05 but, both the DELHYS and DELRAT remained at the stock values of .065. Is this a problem or are the differences in DELTA insignificant?

its negligible, not neccessary to change the other scalars

i changed it in the a9l2 because i've witnessed some 'noisy' tps cause surging at idle due to the ct/pt flags bouncing back and forth

Re: A9L2 base tune-long post, seriously

Post by fox bodies rule » Fri Nov 23, 2012 9:34 pm

so here goes. I compared A9L2 to A9L and came up with the following comments, questions and observations. I have read all 7 pages of posts but the comparison is what tipped me over and triggered this
SHKCHG was .15, is now 2.2lbs what does this do exactly?
HCAMSW was enabled is now disabled, why and what does being in the "filtered air mass" mean?
PIPNUM even though DSFO is shut off, shouldn't the value be 1 to null PIPNUM out or is the change from 4 to 200 to slow the transition if PIPNUM is enabled for an automatic?
MFASW chased this PID all over and it is seems circular so do I assume that it doesn't exist in GUFB/eec IV? which then begs the question why is it enabled in stock A9L bin
ZHGSWI/FN071 settings seem to conflct with definitions at bottom of PID page, also seems preponderance of thinking is that it is a lean condition causing bucking at low rpm low load but the changes made skew the response to input to be lean rather than rich so is there a paradox here or is it becuase fn1360 is enabled and the transition settings don't apply, or?
CCDSW switch changes control to eec instead of TFI, but I'm going to assume that anyone injected is running a TFI if they still have the eec-IV so could you explain the change?
MILTMI setting cracks me up-does having a flashing MIL mean that things have really gone to hell in a hand basket as opposed to just aerating the oil pan?
MNPIP8 setting is changed to 25000 but everything else is shut down by 6500 in the tune because the fuel was shut off at 6500 rpm and turned back on at the same rpm, is this to keep the eec from trying to flip out because it can't process instructions to shut off and turn on fuel at the same time, also the new setting seems to conflict with the notes at the bottom of the PID pages that have "more than and less than" value notes related to (NLM_CL & NLM_SH) setting instructions, so could you explain?
SHKTP could you please explain what a "damper" is?
I am trying to understand the why behind the what, thanks!

I downloaded this tune shortly after it was first posted. I put in my injector functions, TB airflow, idle rpm, engine size, MAF transfer and maybe a few other things. Basically adding my engine info. The car starts up and idles great but as soon as I begin to touch the throttle it begins to die. I assuming it needs some more fuel. What would be the best way to get fuel in on tip in? If it wasn't so cold I'd get out there and get the wideband hooked up again.

You may want to download A9L2 again. Decipha has updated it several times since he origianally posted it.

shkcg is used to calculate hard accel, its done for background calculations
hcamsw disables adaptives while rpm adders are active
pipnum enables time for fuel to stabilize before allows closed loop
mfasw is setup correctly so just flip the switch if you want it
fn071 is scaling for spark and a few others
zhgsw1 being reduced allows for an aged o2 or slight ground resistance to still control fuel correctly
ccdsw enables a ccd efi module to function correctly
if the CEL comes on you have an issue, could be ECT sensor which would cause cold start issues, or could be MAF which could cause a blown piston
mnpip forces fuel cut and failure management, by calibrating it out the rev limiter does its job
shktp is tied in with shkcg, its the minimum tp to allow hard accel calculation

Is the IDLRPM scaler supposed to be about 200+rpm from base idle settings? The stock bin settings are Idle in Neutral and in Drive 800rpm and the IDLRPM scaler is set at 1000 rpm. In the AL92 tune the Idle in Neutral 800 and in Drive 896rpm and the IDLRPM scaler is set at 850 rpm.

In my tune I have my base idles at 848 and adjusted the IDLRPM scaler is set at 1050 rpm and my idle doesn't fall off too quickly and stumble like it did before.

Thanks for the tune!! It works great except when I'm taking off. It wants to die if i'm not giving it more than 14-1500rpms to take off but after that its hell on wheels. I put in my maf transfer and my injector high slope and low slope numbers (i got the high and low from 1 of your previous posts for fms 30's). I'm running 306 with 30lb injectors gt40 upper and lower 1" spacer, 70mm bbk throttle, 75mm mass air, fenderwell cold air, edlebrock performers, b303 cam, hooker headers, no cat bbk h, flowmaster 40's....

I havent logged anything or dyno'd it yet and I dont have my lm-1 hooked up but from the base tune i got from poweraddersolutions to this one, this one seems way better.

Thanks man some people just want $$$ to give information like this. Thanks for being straight up and helpful! It really does mean alot to people like me that know just a little bit that gets me by.

If it would stop freakin snowing I'd like to get a good data log. Before I do I think I'm going to change the maf transfer back to the original A9L2 and see what that does. If it doesnt solve the problem I'm going to change back to my maf curve and post a log.

I have 3 mustangs so this one is my street car/ rice eater. I've also been working on my 393 stroker thats my lseater  and I want to get those 2 mustangs in the barn so I can start sanding on my 64 1/2 to finally start painting it. Too many projects and not enough time.
