This is where the BIN Hackers and definition junkies discuss the inner workings of the EEC code and hardware. General tuning questions do not go here. Only technical/hardware-specific/code questions and discussions belong here.

LA3 Error codes

Post by mpaton » Wed Mar 04, 2015 6:16 pm

Doesn't seem to have been much activity here for a while, so......

Just for an intellectual exercise, I've been looking at the LA3 bin.

And frustratingly, I can't find the code that flashes STO. Or for that matter, the mapping of calls to the fault filtering function to the error codes. Anyone seen where they live?

I think the STO uses HSO #9.

The self test stuff looks to start at 0x66BE.

I realize now that my statement "can't find the code that flashes STO" was unclear.

I agree, STO is definitely on HSO #9.
And the code that controls the on/off settings of STO is at 0x3D67.
And it is controlled by several flags in REG_EC,
so that actually is the code that flashes STO.

However, the Fault Filter function is at 0x6B5D
When this function is called from address 0x691C the resultant code once buffered and filtered will be Code 61.

What I don't see is the mapping that causes the call at 0x691C to be able to flash the code 61 (and other calls to flash the other codes that this bin is capable of flashing).

So, that's my challenge to all the BIN reader geeks on here :-)
I guess I've always thought there would be more such discussions here.
