2011 Mustang GT Upgraged MAS Replacement Problem

Post by ebeck81 » Fri Apr 17, 2015 6:41 am

Hello,

I have my 2011 Mustang GT at a tuner at the moment and they are having problems. I am running a Paxton NOVI 2200SL centrifical supercharger and was told by said tuner that my MAS was pegged out at that I needed one with a wider range. They then ordered a PMAS brand MAS and installed it in the GT. They say that they have the car idling good (which hunted with the old MAS)and have good drivability, but the problem is that under boost the CPU is retarding timing a lot(car should run 600RWHP and its running 300RWHP). The tuner has told me that this is happining no matter how much he commands the timing to advance. He said that he has turned off the knock sensors and this did not help. He is an SCT tuner at the Master level. SCT engineers have been contacted but no resolve has ben meet for over a week. Has he hit some black box code in the ford PCM that does not like the MAS or something? I know that I could have them fab a larger MAS housing for the orginal MAS to skate around this problem. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed

the problem isnt the maf

Never disable knock sensors, you can turn them down but not off

did they disable the variable cam spark modifiers and tq limiting?

Tell them to log spark source to find out where the timing is being clipped

If your pushing 10lbs of boost and only making 300rwhp youd have to be around -10 degrees of timing or so
