Which MAF and Injectors for turbo'd 95 GT

Post by connorb057 » Thu Apr 23, 2015 11:14 pm

Hello everyone, just getting into using the Moates Quarterhorse. I've got a 1995 Mustang GT that I just installed the MQ on and loaded the factory tune through Binary Editor and it's running great. I am slowly putting together a turbo kit and have a few questions. I just bought some 42lb 15ohm Siemens injectors, I should just have to find the parameters for this and load it into Binary Editor right? Also I'm trying to decide what MAF to use for a blowthrough setup. For a budget setup could I use a 2005+ GT OEM slot style MAF (Same part number as the GT500 MAF). I would have it housed in a 3.5" intake tube to increase air velocity before it is pegged. For this would I just find the stock MAF table and input it into BE or would I still have to modify it because it is in a larger housing? Or does anyone else have any MAF suggestions that aren't ridiculously overpriced? I am only looking at 400hp max for this setup for now.

Thanks!

Yes, you need the parameters for your injectors and then enter them in BE. The transfer function changes when you change the housing size. You can find the transfer function for the 05 and up factory slot sensor in different housings here:http://info.efidynotuning.com/maf.htm

a stock slot in a 3.5" housing will support just over 400rwhp  so your good

if the vehicle is near stock now it would be most ideal to rip out the stock 19s and toss in the 42s, dial them in first before changing the maf or inlet piping that way you know your injector data is correct

I do not know of any published 42lb info from siemens, if you come across it send it on over to me and i'll add it to the injector specs reference page

That's what I was thinking about doing too! The car is 100% bone stock right now. They are 42lb Siemens Deka OEM injectors that came in some volvo turbo cars. They have an EV-1 connector and are 15 ohm so they should work? Got them for really cheap.

Edit: I found that they flow 448 cc/min, 43 lb/hr, and the ratings are at 3 BAR. Is that all I should need?

Unfortunately no. Ford uses high slope, low slope, breakpoint and injector comp. vs. battery voltage to tell the EEC the characteristics of the injectors.

Is there any way that I could use the injector data from a different 42lb injector and make changes from there? Or am I better off getting rid of these and finding a new set of injectors? Also can I get a link to the injector specs reference page that decipha mentioned? I tried searching for it and didn't come up with anything.

Thanks guys

You could try and use specs from different injectors as a baseline and tune from there. However, if you are new to tuning it may be challenging. Getting injectors with published specs would certainly be easier. Injector specs reference page: http://www.efidynotuning.com/injdata.htm

Ahh gotchya. I will just sell these then and buy a set of different injectors. There is a lot of good info on that website that Decipha has!

dont sell them just because you dont have their info, hell i get cars all the time with no idea what kinda injectors are in them, just dial it in and be done with it

if its bone stock now just use the A9L2 cal and dial it in, once you get the stock setup dialed in then toss the injectors in and dial them in

Ill tell you what, Ill help you out since Id like to get some info on the 42s myself

I thought the A9L2 is for the 89-93 ECUs. I think this is the 95 ECU. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Replica 1967 AC Shelby Cobra. 5.0/347 Edel Performer RPM heads. Cam 236/242 @ 0.50 .575 lift 110 LSA. Vic JR Intake with bungs welded in and 38 lb/hr injectors. PMAS slot meter in 3" OD aluminum pipe. PCV is only emissions equipment. O2s are in a single header tube, as collector is in side pipes a long way from heads. MassFlow EFI. It uses a Ford EEC4 A9L - I added a QH Chip - using TunerPro.

I was going to ask that myself. It's a 95 with the T4M0 ecu. Should I use the T4M2 tune that you created Dechipa? Later today I might open it in BE and see what's different between the two.

Got it. I just bought an AEM wideband kit so that should be going in along with the injectors within a few weeks. Also since I have a bone stock car should I have to modify the T4M2 tune before loading it?

Edit: Got it figured out. Forgot to reset the ecu learned memory (disconnect battery) before loading the new tune so it kept stalling at idle. Seems fine now.
