Cardone GUFB part number

Post by oharris » Wed Jul 13, 2016 12:16 pm

My neighbor fried his A9L by removing the chip with the key on, or so it seems. He's looking at a Cardone replacement, but the A9L equivalent 78-4352 is harder to find and more expensive when you do find one. Since it's going to be tuned anyway, I'm thinking any GUFB ECU will work. Anyone got a good Cardone part number that will work without any wiring changes?

Project #4 '80 Porsche 924 Turbo, to EEC or not to EEC that is the question?

Any GUFx EEC will work. So don't limit yourself to just GUFBs. Here's a list:
A9P, A9T, C3W, C3W1, 8LD, A9S, A9L, A9M, A3M, A3M1, A3M2, D3D

Looking on eBay, the cheapest used one I could find is $125, and they go up from there.

If CBAZA is an option, consider moving up to the 94-95. I don't think the wiring difference was that much and I believe CBAZA is capable of running a gray (push start) TFI even though the stock tune is set for black (CCD) TFI.
