intro...

Post by RoscoDude » Tue Jun 13, 2017 7:03 pm

Hello,

After a decade and a half of playing with carbs off-road. I picked p a new project and have a ford EEC to tune again.

For back ground. I was one of the original EEC-Tuner owners. I used it tuning my '88 (x3z & cobra MAF conversion) and then my '90 fox body mustang. wrecked the '88 sold the '90 back around '06 or '07.

new project I found a '94 mustang. 347?, B cam?, cobra Intake. unknown (at this point) MAF & TB, and a powerdyne. Looks like a 6lb kit still running the stick pulleys. I'm still figuring out what previous owners did to the car and fixing issues I've discovered.

Goal is to tune out the FMU and get the car running good through the computer and maybe turning up the boost a bit.. As the car is currently running with the spout connector pulled out and timing set to 28*.

I might still have the old EEC-Tuner still attached to the old X3Z computer in a box of old mustang parts down in the basement. But figure there must be better devices out there now. Been looking on-line a bit. The TwEECer seems to be still around and then I found the QuarterHorse. Whats the best one to purchase today? advantages? easiest software?

Read over this:
TwEECer RT vs Quarterhorse

It's a bit dated, but still relevant. I do update the text from time to time as I notice that things have changed enough to warrant an update. But for the most part, the QH is the thing that reign's supreme right now.
