Recently my 90' has started to freak out with the idle air control valve. It will randomly open fully and hold the engine at 2500-2600rpm and give an undesired cruise control. I wondered if valve was bad since it was a cheap brand one so I used a Motorcraft replacement. Does the same damn thing. Idling in traffic tonight it just shot up again. If I turn off the ignition it resets. Game plan is to check all my wiring and plug/connections. While I'm working on that if anyone has had similar experiences please share.

I haven't seen any changes in my tune that would tell the IAC to go full open at idle. I haven't had time to go drive and log to see if the computer is commanding this. That will be one of my trouble shooting steps.

The salt and pepper shaker connectors at the back of the intake are notorious for causing this. Could also be a bad TPS.

ive also seen them freak when people put idle air adjusters on there, make sure there isnt one as well

and another thing, make sure its mounted im the correct orientation as they cannot function correctly if vac is on the wrong side
