11 years Later....
Dropping in to say hello!
Had some good times here, reading, chatting.
Hows everyone been doing? I still have my car. Havent drove it in a few years though :(
Here in Ontario, its just a lovely fight going threw Bi-Yearly Etests.
Still have a huge rich condition at idle...still unable to find the cause in the tune.
Couple years ago I put my LM2 on my car, and the idle is so rich It wont even read! But when you cruise around with it, it reads 14.7 on average.
Also i nice 11.0 at WOT!
So a few years, I decided to try the etest thing again, now keep in mind the car has no Cats either. We found a small trick and the car actually passed!
We bypassed the RPM pickup, so the computer couldnt pick up our "idle speed". We held the car continuously at 3000 RPM through out the entire 5 minute test, and long behold the car passed. But let me tell you it was blazing HOT!!!! My temps were outstanding haha!
So im gonna try and stay a little more active, see if I cant get this situated.
Ive also added water meth, but ill get into that a little later.
Just glad to see this site still going, and everyone still here.
Cheers everyone
Keith.

Re: 11 years Later....
Interesting that you got it to pass, even without CATs. Did they give you any indication as to what your numbers were? Was it close? Or did you just get a simple pass?

Actully yes I have the etest paper still. Ill show you the numbers...I was amazed it actually passed myself. Been scared to try it again because of how hot it got haha!
This was 2500 RPM Test...
Code: Select all
Limit Reading
HC (ppm) 200 109
CO (%) 1 0.87
Dilution 6 9.98
Code: Select all
Limit Reading
HC (ppm) 200 111
CO (%) 1 0.89
Dilution 6 9.93
But the end result it actually passed lol.

Re: 11 years Later....
I took the liberty to edit your post to make the data appear better as a table.
What's the Dilution measurement? And I'm assuming higher is better since you passed and your measured number was higher than the limit.
Our E-tests have HC, CO, and NOx. I think CO2 content is also reported and it might have had a minimum CO2 content just so you can't just get the machine to suck in outside air and "pass" that way. I'm assuming that's what your dilution measure is.

Thank you, thats how I typed it out, but when I hit submit it went all messed up on me hahaha.cgrey8 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 9:00 pm I took the liberty to edit your post to make the data appear better as a table.

Normally we do have NOx, but its not on my paper. Now that you mention that ive never noticed until now.
As for the dilution, I cant answer that question. At the time of the test he did a pre test and the car wasnt going to pass, at that time I swapped the meter from the drivers tail pipe to the passengers side. Then did another run and seen it was doing better. So up comes the RPMs, he found a sweet spot (3000) and just held it there. Then it was over.
But the poor car was intensly hot! It scared me...
One of my last posts, the guys were saying glowing headers are from timing.
In 2010 I almost lost the car, it caught the grass on fire and went up in flames in the engine bay. Thankfully I had a few fire extinguishers on hand and was able to save the car.
What ever the issue is im having in my tune needs to be fixed. It just seems like everyone has their own takes on software, and hardware.
I have the TwEECer RT/CalEdit-CalCon. Some people use QH/BE, Moates, etc....
So it seems harder to get help...
I learned years ago theres more then one way to skin a cat. Its like making a program in visual Studios, 5+ ways to write the coding, but the end result it does the same thing.

Hey Keith..... welcome back. Where in ON are you? If your close we could get together and have a look when the salt clears.
I also use Tweecer except I had to get away from CalEdit and I use BE. I got so frustrated using CalEdit way back before BE came to be...... My work around was to use TunerPro to edit bin files and used Tweecer software only to write and datalog. It worked well as long as I didn't forget to add any changes I made on the fly with CalEdit to the bin file. It also makes it easier to get help from others. I can't say for certain if there's a free definition file for your calibration but its worth investigating.

Re: 11 years Later....
Hey John, thanks for the welcome back.
I'm in the Trenton/Belleville area. Where about are you?
It's nice meeting other mustang owners, I take it you're also on the GTAMC?
I think if I spent more time on another program I'd get to learn it better. I guess goes with anything else. Lol

Re: 11 years Later....
Lol.....once you get familiar with the other programs you may never look back. I was content doing the TunerPro thing but really like having everything integrated in an easy to use single program like BE. CalEdit definitions just don't have everything things broke out as well.
I'm up in Newmarket and yes I also frequent GTAMC with the same username.
