New to BE and Quarterhorse, and was pegging my MAF 5V before redline.
Bought a new MAF from PMAS, and haven't figured out how to get their 39 point transfer into BE's 30 point "curve" ?
Is there a thread I missed that covers this?
If so, please let me know.
I put the lower 30 points into my curve in BE and cut slopes and breakpoint in half, along with cubic inches and got the truck running, but it is far from tuned.
Strategy URB1
Thank you,
James
Attached is the transfer function for the PMAS MAF I bought

Re: Scaling a 39 point MAF transfer to BE 30 point?
You have to selectively exclude points in the 39 curve to get it down to 30. My recommendation would be to remove every other point at the top-end of the curve. However now that you have it running, find out what the engine maxes the MAF out at. If your highest-possible MAFv voltages with your engine are, lets say, 4.1v, then you can eliminate most of the points above, say 4.3v (except the very top row). The very top row needs to remain representing the MAX possible value you can enter for a voltage (even if it doesn't make sense) and the max value from your MAF curve. This does also assume you will not be making any additional power-adder mods in the future that would push the flowrates into that no-longer represented flow range.
If your engine is producing values in the upper range, say 4.7v or 4.8v or you plan to add mods in the future to get into this range, then you are back to just eliminating every other point starting at the top of the curve. But I think it's safe to say, if you are going to drop points, you are best to drop points at the top of the curve, rather than the bottom or middle where you will spend far more time AND where drive-ability would be compromised.

Thank you, that does make sense, and I will give that a try.
I appreciate your help thank you!

Re: Scaling a 39 point MAF transfer to BE 30 point?
Just to follow up and give report for future use.
There is a function in BE to "fit" a maf transfer into a 30 point scale. (guessing up or down) Along with other functions in the same screen (maf curve screen).
I tried several ways to get this to work, this function was not in the help file, so to understand how to use it I contacted the author and he asked me to send him my curve and calibration. He returned it to me in a working 30 point curve.
Maybe there are some here that understand "How" this works and would care to explain?
I do appreciate what the author of the program did "For" me as now I am up and running and moving forward with my "tune".
I would like to understand things as I bought all the hardware and software to learn how to do this.
Thank you,
James
