When using the jaybird to program chips does the chip have to be installed on the ecu? Trying not to have to invest in a laptop.

Also was trying to figure out if the stock tune stays intact once you remove the chip.

Chip goes on the jaybird. Jaybird connects to the PC by usb.

OEM Tune stays put in the ECU.
