Explorer Sensors with A9L

Post by sheza65 » Fri Feb 19, 2021 11:15 pm

Will the A9L correctly run with a 1999 Explorer TPS, IAC motor, etc?

I put a 1999 Explorer 5.0 in a '66 Mustang. The Explorer harness was butchered, but the pigtails & sensors are present. Instead of modifying the Explorer throttle body to work with the Mustang TPS I want to just use what I have (if the computer can handle it).

The TPS yes it will work

As for the IAC make sure it is a spring to close version. If it is then it will work. I would grab the transfer function out of an explorer IAC. Below is the transfer.

0, 0.09, 0.14, 0.36, 0.46, 0.89, 1.23, 1.71, 2.06, 2.4
0, 0.25, 0.3, 0.4, 0.45, 0.55, 0.6, 0.7, 0.85, 0.99
