Question about A9P with 5 speed
I've looked around some and have found pinouts etc, but those don't answer my question. 88 Mark VII, formerly an SD car. Swapped to mass air with an A9P and SN95 T5 swapped. Given the Mark VII never came with a manual, there are none of the wiring hookups or ability to swap to a manual harness. All that said, I want to make sure the computer will know when the car is and isn't in gear. Presently the wires going to the NSS are just jumped out so the car will start. Would running those to a clutch switch allow the computer to know when its in neutral vs in gear? And does this even matter? IE: will the computer still go into adaptive learning once it reaches temp?

Re: Question about A9P with 5 speed
On manual cars, the EEC usually monitors both NSS on the clutch pedal and transmission neutral switch. One or the other have to indicate neutral. If you only wire to the NSS, then it is possible the trans could be in neutral, but your foot not pushing the clutch in and the result would be the EEC believing you are in drive. The only issue I can think of that this would cause is possibly some idle oddities.
I don't THINK this would affect adaptive learning for fueling. However this could definitely affect neutral idle adaptive learning. Since this is a manual, the idle control in drive is not as important as it is with an automatic. So the unintended affects may not actually be a problem. It's hard to say...

Re: Question about A9P with 5 speed
Set TRLOAD=0.
The real issue is the eec not recognizing returning to idle. You end up with inconsistent idle, or hanging idle. See sig.
Everything else will work as Ford intended it, even if not set. You could set FN875 N&D the same, in theory this would do the same thing.
