Unable to open TwEECer

When I put the TwEECer in the car I get that message when I try to read the EEC or TwEECer. I don't get that message when I have attached to my desktop though. Also if I un-plug the EEC and take it to my desktop or lap top then I can read it.

Any ideas?

I get this message when the ignition key isn't turned to the on position.

I've never tried that, but I will now, and I'll bet it works now too.
