Tweecer fit to case

Post by dsleepy47 » Wed Jun 02, 2004 11:56 pm

I am installing a new TWEECER RT and I have a question about the fit to the case. I installed it on a A9L, I tested it and everything seems to work but the instructions say that the TWEECER should be against the case as for as I can get it on there is still about 1/4" between the Tweecer case and the EEC case. I measured the depth of the connector on the tweecer and it appears to be on to the full depth of the connector and the J3 traces are fully covered. Is this unusual?

As long as the TwEECer is making good contact, and works. Everything will be good to go.

There has been talk about some needing a shim under the TwEECer, I pulled a Hypertech chip lastnight from stock and it comes with shims so...

Thanks for the reply. I put some shims under it and taped it down.

To make a one size fits all (EEC's) we had to space the tweecer connector out some. The A9L's case is stamped, but he 94 and up EEC cases are cast and a bit over 1/4 of an inch thick back where the J3 port is. So a generic length on the connector was decided on. Good idea on the spacers.
