Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

Spark Advance Question

Post by George » Tue Jul 12, 2005 6:08 pm

I did a datalog of my car the other day and everything looked fine, so the next day with out changing a single thing i did anothe datalog and the spark doesn't advance at all.I drove this thing for an half hour and the spark never moved off of 5.I even revved the thing almost to the rev limiter and it never changed.Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Did you select the spark to datalog? How did it drive? Is the spout in?

I would think the car would run rather poor if it only had 5* across the board.

Spark was selected and the spout was in.To be honest with you the car didn't run bad at all.

I left out my spout one time a long time ago and the car ran like crap at 10* so I would think it would be worse at 5*.

Have your tried to datalog again in case it was a bad datalog?

This happened to me one day when I changed the switch position during a datalog and didn't realize it would matter. The spark numbers didn't move, as well as a few other readings got all screwed up. Did any other readings go haywire? Maybe you change dthe switch position by accident? I resent the tune and redid the datalog and everything worked fine. Just a thought.

I blew a head gasket so i haven't been able to check it again. The switch didn't move at all and none of the other settings were messed up.It was probably just corupt or something.
