Anything about Ford EEC tuning. TwEECer and Moates questions dominate, but there's some SCT and OBD-II knowledge too.

You may just have to experiement with the shift schedules and converter lock/unlock values until you get it right.

Did you correct your speedometer so that it is pretty accurate? If so, then you want to do the following:

Reduce the Trans21 and Trans32_Max_Pullin_Speed by the ratio of your new gear to your old gear. If you had a 2.73 gear, then for a 4.10 you divide these numbers by 1.5.

Multiply Trans_Base_RPM/VSS by 1.5

Divide Trans_MNOSSPER by 1.5

You'll also need to adjust your shift points and rev limiters to keep out of your rev limiters at WOT. That's going to be trial and error.

You will also need to adjust your shift up/down and converter lock/unlock schedules. For these functions, divide all of your MPH numbers by 1.5. This will have you shift at the same RPM's as you did before the gear change. That will get you in the neighborhood. You can fine tune it from there.

Good luck.

ok its better now...

i just need to work on the lock unlock part now....

is it bad to keep it locked all the time?i dont really understand the whole lock unlock thing with it...why does it even unlock?

it seems like i hit a powerband sometimes.it will be going fast and then revv faster like i hit another gear or a powerband but im still in the same gear..
i wanna get the first part gone, unlock??is that what it is?

I'm not sure about the hows and whys of the unlock, but I made the changes to my 4th gear unlock as shown below.

Image

The red trace is stock W4H0 and the blue trace is mine. For starters, it's scaled to compensate for the 3.73 gears. As you can see, I dropped the unlock MPH for higher TPs to prevent the converter from unlocking while I'm cruising on the highway and start to go up a hill. It seems to work out for me. Depending on where you want the converter to stay locked, just drop the MPH at the corresponding TP.

Don't know if this helps any. Good luck.

just did these changes to my otherwise stock tune.

upgraded to 3.73's from my stock 3.27's

its great to feel it shift at the old rpms again.

the only thing i didnt like about the old shift points was the lock/unlock schedules. can i put these lockup points back to what they originally were without messing with the other changes you recommended?

also can you post up that link again for the pic you posted?

thanks

I reccomend not playing with the lock up feature,as not many"if any at all"know what it needs to be changed to.

I experimented with it and had horrific results.
Just be verry carefull, and make verry slight adjustments.

S-trim on a stock 302 longblock. Stock heads, cobra intake. 42lb injectors, either a Lightning or SCT2400, not sure what I had at that point.
