Hey Peeps, i need some help.My mates got a 1990 Mustang engine in his Sierra 3dr. the engine is a 5.0 V8 fuel injection, with relativly low compression ratio.he wants to carry out a twin turbo conversion(utilising 2 T2's running appox 5 psi each). wot we wana no is once the conversion is dun, wud it be possible to live map the standard EEC4 ECU which is currently using a MAF Sensor to accept the turbos?
Anybody that can help or give advice plz msg me and i would be most grateful.

Not sure what you mean by "live map" the EEC. There are tools like the TwEECer which allow you to adjust the MAF curve, injector size and many other things to get this to work. I believe there are a couple of active participants on this forum who are running twin turbos. You will need to say more though, like which EEC4 is it by Strategy and calibration. Forgive me as this may sound dumb, but are you in Australia? What is a Sierra? The only Sierra I know is a GMC pickup.

I'm not familiar with those, but they sound like really small turbos. They will most likely choke a 5.0L V8. T3's and T3/T4 hybrids are very common on Mustang 5.0L engines. Got any specs on them? Flow rates, inducer diameter, etc?

A guy over on the v8-ranger.com is doing a dual turbo small block setup to his Ranger. I believe he's using diesel turbos. He has pics of his mockup over there if you are interested in looking over them. I don't know if he plans on carbed or EFI, he's not that far along from last I heard. But his unique setup of using Mustang headers on the wrong side of the motor, and upside down was pretty unique I thought.

were from th uk. A Ford Sierra uses the same body as a Merkur XRTi. if that makes any sense. Merkur made a turbo charged V6 or V8 which was only released in america.we got the Ford Sierra with top models being the RS Cosworth and XR4x4.
We currently dont no what type of eec4 unit is on the car, but are there any numbers, letters or distinct marks that could identify which type it is?
the reason why Dave is goin for T2 turbo's is because he wants little turbo lag as possible and thought that runnin those on 5 psi each would give the good enough power hike he wanted.
After speakin with Dave, he suggested using T304B's. any suggestions or comments?
also can the tweecer software be downloaded from the web and be used to map th eec4 unit(when we finally find out which type it is!)

This is the same as real time tuning.2Shaker wrote:Not sure what you mean by "live map" the EEC.
